RAAS Error message at FSX Startup

Recommended Posts

  My brother informed me of an error message that he was getting today
when attempting to start FSX.
  We both use roughly the same hardware and software and both of us have
the PMDG T7 installed. I also have many other PMDG planes installed 744 v3, NGX
and others.  I have been using RAAS Pro for several years, but I beleive my brother

has the PMDG  T7's (locked) RAAS version.
   When I tried to start my FSX this afternoon, I received the same error
message during FSX startup.  Any idea what is causing this?  Screen cap of the

error msg is at the below Dropbox link:

  https://www.dropbox.com/s/xw1sxbvix51yw5h/MG_152.jpg?dl=0
   I believe the error message began after an update to the PMDG Ops Center
was unstalled.  And I believe that I went through this at least once before after
a previous PMDG Ops Center update
  I contacted PMDG first about this and their support rep Chri Makris suggested
that I contact FS2 Crew. Please tell me how to troubleshoot this or perhaps
you can suggest a fix.  I have tried the three fix techniques offered by FS2 Crew

with no success.
Best to all,

Hi Ken,

Please look about half way down this page:

Cheers,

Hi Bryan;

Hope you are doing well. I am having exactly the same issue as Ken, and I am using the locked version which came bundled with PMDG 747 v2. My last Opts Center has been awhile so I know it isn't that. This just started a few days ago out of the blue. I am using Win 7 Pro with FSX and I haven't done any updates and or loaded any add-ons in months so I am at a loss as to what could have caused it.

I was directed to the page you attached when it happened and I tried all 3 suggested solutions but nothing worked.

For Solution #1;  Every time I clicked "Yes"  FSX Crashed " FSX has encountered a problem and will close XXXXXXX" and it tried to reload, so that didn't work. The link provided to Dowson's Comments didn't work but I am aware of what it is about and that wasn't it. I haven't had an add on update or new ones added utilizing and or adding SimConnect since late 2020.

For Solution #2: Wasn't sure what that was supposed to do but clicking on the FSX.exe did noting. The Data category has -RUNASADMIN so not quite sure what else should be there.

For Solution #3: Did as stated, renamed the .DLL and that also didn't work, Still got the error. I could have sworn that would have worked thinking that it may just be a corrupt name or something.

Is there a Locked Version of RAAS that we can get to load and or a new .DLL to replaced the corrupted one?

Thanks again.

Kindest Regards.

Forshaw.

Hi Bryan,

  I have tried those 3 solutions without success as Forshaw (above) did,  Which is why I am in the forum  ~:)

I use the full (unlocked) version.  I have of course thought about uninstalling / re-installing it,

but not sure if that would help, and was hoping for some additional insight into the issue first.

Best regards,

Ken

I started getting this message 2 days ago and like others I tried the same solutions and nothing worked.  I have the locked version of fs2 crew which I think was installed when I purchased Aerosoft airbus extended many years ago.  Never had a problem until now. This is really strange that several people are having the same problem and the same time!!

Thanks for any help!

Tonight I did an uninstall / re-install of RAAS Pro and then ran makerunways.exe;.  Still get the error msg

during FSX startup.  Also,  when I examined the dll.xml file,  no RAAS entry was there so I carefully copied and pasted

the entry into it as below >>

<Launch.Addon>
<Name>RAASPRO</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>.\RAASPRO\RAASPRO.dll</Path>
<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
</Launch.Addon>

After several attempts to start FSX (selecting the "yes" at each error message during the startup, the

RAAS log shows (only) the following (please note that all anti-virus and anti-malware has been deactivated).

RAAS Log >>

Searching for Flight Simulator's Main Window...
Retrieving Flight Simulator's Path and Version...
It's a supported Flight Simulator...
Retrieving RAAS Pro version...
Reading the INITIALIZATION file...
Checking for updates...

Thank you for your help with this.

OK, mine seems to be working now!  The first time I ran FSX the error screen appeared and I selected yes to continue.  The load flight screen came up normally and I loaded a flight successfully. I exited FSX and ran FSX again but this time there was NO error and the load flight screen came up normally again. What is a quick way to test FS2 Crew to make sure it is working properly?

Thanks Bryan!

RAAS seems to be back to normal Bryan.  Had error message during the first FSX start attempt and when I selected

the "Yes" option the sim loaded.  And when I switched from FSX default ac to a PMDG ac, I found thr RAAS entry on the.

pull-down menu.  I then shut down FSX and when I restarted > no error message.  That was a "eureka" moment ~:)

Many thanks,

Ken

Hi Bryan;

Same here; looks good. Same results as Ken and Al, 1st. test after the fix I got to message so I clicked "Yes" and it continued fine no crashes. The next time I ran FSX no error message and everything continued fine.

I was pulling my hair out on this, I am sure it was the same for the others😄

Thanks very much for the quick turnaround.

Kindest Regards.

Forshaw.

Glad it's working for you now 😉

Problem was when we moved websites, the RAAS version check for FSX file didn't get moved to the new server, so therefore no version check could be performed.

But it's fixed now 😉
