Also did not see the overhead panel arrow in this video?

Yeah that looks decent.  A lot smoother than my current setup at 1080P that's for sure.

The way I'm using the sim right now....sitting on a couch with a huge 4k screen doesn't seem so bad honestly.  It would be fun for my kids too.

I'll use my PC when I want to simulate flight.  If only I could find an Xbox X....

I bought one at release from the MS store. This is the best method that I know of to find one. Follow one of these guys/gals on twitter that are tracking Xbox, PS5, Video Cards, etc like Matt Swider (link below). There are others as well. Create an account on the MS store with your CC info and be ready to purchase . He will tweet when the X has been restocked. Or you could spam the MS store link below and maybe get lucky as they are always adding stock but it only lasts for minutes.

Configure your Xbox Series X | Xbox - Xbox purchase direct link - Thurs seem to be a good day for restock lately

I noticed that in all console videos the overhead panel arrow is permanent. That's very annoying, fortunately there are addons to remove it on the PC version.

Can you point to one to remove it?

As predicated, the panic from some people in the beta program is extremely overblown. It never changes.

People in the beta program have add-ons though, that affect the FPS and may also affect stuttering, etc.  Supposedly, none of the people playing X-Box in these streams have had a chance to purchase 3rd party add-ons (because X-Box hasn't been released yet so there is not Marketplace for X-Box until July 27th).

The more fair comparison will be when X-Box releases, and people purchase add-ons from the MSFS marketplace, how those X-Boxes with 3rd party add-ons compare to a PC version of MSFS with 3rd party add-ons.

The other way to fairly compare X-Box to PC right now is to compare X-Box without any add-ons and PC without any add-ons.  That would be a fair comparison, but I assume over 95% of the posters in the MSFS Avsim forum have at least one add-on for MSFS.

That's right next to the Bora Bora airport (ICAO: NTTB). It is also part of the upcoming discovery flights.

Great.  Thanks CB!

My Bora Bora doesn't look like that; the central mountains are rounded and green, so it looks like they must have enhanced the scenery for the discovery flight - nice!

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I think you're seeing the result of continual mouse use in some videos compared with little mouse movement in the Obsidian Ant video I posted the link to. The overhead arrow can only be seen during mouse movements on both Xbox and PC.

It's a huge relief to me to see mouse support on the new Xboxes. Setting altitudes and headings would be tedious to say the least without some fullsome mouse support.

Yes, he always produces good videos but how come he hasn't streamed any MSFS or any other fltsims for about the last 6 months ??.

Very good question, he’s clearly just cashing in again like he did for he Renton and pre-release videos. Give it a week or two he’ll disappear again I’m sure.

I think that most people with slow machines would happily junk their add-ons if they could get XBOX Series X Performance. Not sure why you think add-ons are going to make a difference though - they haven't with the PC version which is the same code. What is becoming very clear is the the XBOX Series X / MSFS combo is looking like a bargain and likely to be the platform of choice for those new to simming and others. like myself, will switch to XBOX as main platform for using MSFS. I did say in previous XBOX version discussions that the benefits of being able to truly optimizing the sim as the hardware is exactly known would bring fantastic performance.

Wow that is insane. Who would have ever seen this coming. A competent aviation game  - with global database + streaming sat data -  on a console. So smooth!

Never thought I'd live to see this

You know, with the current cloud computing technology that MS and other gaming companies leveraging, games are very capable to running very nicely as long as your internet connection is fast and stable.

The power of streaming is really strong

And that's is the same for computer platforms too as long as its hardware is not too old and above the minimum specs.  As long as the settings are reasonable, the overall gaming experiences will be good compared to other fs versions like P3D or FSX.
