July 25, 20214 yr I run P3D on 2 monitors - main is a fairly new Asus 28 inch 4k capable of 30 Hz but runs at 60 using a display port connection. Second is a very old Asus 24 inch which only has DVI and isn't capable of 30 Hertz. I find that P3D is not as stable if you run different screens at different refresh rates. When looking for a new 24 inch monitor it isn't at all clear from the specs on Amazon if they are capable of 30 Hertz. I don't need audio, so just a good quality HDMI that can do 30 and 60 Hertz is what I'm looking for, any suggestions?
July 25, 20214 yr Moderator @simfan1983, if you intend to stretch a P3D display over two screens I would recommend you have both the same size and resolution. But the problem in doing that is the join between the two covers the most critical area - the runway when landing. You might be better getting a larger single monitor such as a 34” ultra wide. But as you haven’t listed your hardware and especially the CPU and GPU it’s hard to make a recommendation. Ray (Cheshire, England). I run P3D in full screen mode on the larger monitor screen and all my other software (STKP, Navigraph Charts, Chaseplane, VPilot etc) on the smaller monitor. My GPU is a GTX1080Ti (overclocked) and CPU is an 8700k (overclocked at 4.5 GHz).
July 26, 20214 yr Moderator @simfan1983, in that case why not buy another 28” 4K monitor? The extra resolution will give you more space for those programs. The draw on the 1080Ti will not be significant. You need to go to a manufacturer’s website and read the user manual for resolutions and refresh rates supported. Ray (Cheshire, England).
