Ground reducing quality at high altitude?

Is this a bug on my machine or is this something everybody is experiencing? I cannot remember if this happened before SU5, but at 27,000 ~ 35,000 feet the imagery goes really bad. Even FS2004 could probably pull off something better at the same framerate.

All settings on "High".

At altitude in real life it won't be anywhere near crystal crisp & clear.

The problem isn't if it's realistic or not, the problem for me is that once I start descending under ~ 27,000 feet the scenery just suddenly improves in quality drastically. I don't think real life does that.

Edit: It's solved once you put Terrain Vector Data to Ultra and max terrain level of detail to 200.

Yeah, but my point was that on High before Sim Update 5, it was fine above 27,000 feet. However, now High looks more like Medium.

Yes, because people with 5 year old systems, and people with brand new systems couldn't understand that ULTRA is not for today's hardware nor 5 years old hardware. Then asobo trimmed the top level, so now ULTRA is MEDIUM.
