Hotfix for CTDs and major issues coming soon

Featured Replies

An there we go, even more negativity, assumptions, hours later about an official statement. It makes me want to leave forums, support sites and just enjoy the sim like we use to do in the FS9 days,...

This sounds like fake news.  It wouldn’t be the first time things were said about a hot fix and then there was no hot fix, or it took weeks to deliver.  Hopefully we hear this directly from Asobo sooner than later.

This info came from Matt from WT.. If that turned out to be false i would be EXTREMELY surprised

Is anyone getting ctds from thermal throttling? I haven’t had any yet, but had hardware monitor on for a flight last night and saw one core get up to 91degrees, without an overclock.

I’m pretty sure I’ve just had one tonight. PC actually shutdown on me not even CTD.

Just provide the source and let the user be the judge i guess.

I highly encourage this.  The reason internet fora are often so toxic is because they tend to attract the most opinionated loudmouths, and those people tend on the whole, in my experience, to be of a fairly negative disposition.

There are plenty of good folks around, but they're drowned out by people who would rather complain about things not being Just So than actually go have what fun they can.   The more positive people are out doing just that, and not contributing here.

The people's flag is deepest red.

If you have an Intel CPU you may want to try turning off hyperthreading in BIOS. This lowered my temps 12-15 C. After the SU5 update I re-enabled HT and on my next sim session I spiked to 98C, 2 degrees away from Tjunction and immediately shut it down and went back into BIOS and disabled again. Highest temp spikes are now low to mid 80's and only for fractional seconds. Much more pleasant. Although I still can't fly. Reliably.

When a forum becomes a tool to confront, air frustration, become a negativity nest, harass, insult, and so much more, this is not a simulator meeting point anymore. I know this society is increasingly neurotic and unhappy. Further and further away from inner peace and happiness. But such levels of rage and anger for a software simulation entertainment toy never cease to amaze me.

Good news. And indeed, the level of animosity and heat triggered by SU5 is really big. I guess it´t summer or the lockdowns.

Or maybe the bugs, ctd's, and regressions? Just sayin'

Honestly, I thought I'd seen it all in Sim Racing forums, but this place and the official forum in the last 48hrs is making me loose my faith in humanity.  Over a bit of entertainment software!  Some people need to take a good look at themselves and get some perspective.

Arrgghhh.. just had another CTD approaching EGLL. Temps and everything else seemed fine.

Anyone making this argument is saying they have no idea what they're talking about.  Well, either that or you're intentionally using inflammatory rhetoric, which does nothing but contribute to the heated atmosphere.  The dev team have been very clear that the PC and the XBox versions are one and the same codebase, there is no "porting" to speak of.

The problem is, for every reasonable person like you, there is another who is impatient, intolerant, and just looking for a fight.  On both sides.  The sim is not perfect, nor is it total garbage, and anyone holding one view or the other is an irrational extremist.   There there seem to be not many of the former, and a lot of the latter, here at times.

Also, a lot of folks here obviously know next to nothing about software development at the scale of the sim but still seem to have lots of opinions on how it can/should be done and rather unreasonable expectations.   That doesn't help, either.

But I guess that's just human nature.

We are so lucky to have you now, already judging people after 6 (six) posts.

Welcome anyway

Animosity has always been around on these forums through all seasons, with and without pandemics. Thank heavens for moderators!

That's the problem with this world. We're so divided. What we need is peace and unity among each other. We shouldn't put labels on people or group them into categories. This causes division and makes people angry and hate one another.

Without doubt, a fine idealogy. The problem has always been getting 7.6 billion people to subscribe to it.

Jayne is at Microsoft, and she is in constant communication with Asobo developers. I don't think it would be in her interest to post fake news...
