Why the Xbox release is great news for flight simming

The only good that can come of this is that console users are way less used to/willing to deal with instability and maybe they will get more attention in the gaming press for what a dumpster fire this software is.

I've never used multiplayer yet, but I think this might be my first issue with the update. I have Online Functionality and Multiplayer turned on, but the icon at the top of the screen is stays grayed out.

I hadn't thought about it that way.

More torches and pitchforks can be a good thing as long as you are a villager and not Frankenstein.

@The Moose

No argument here, you made it clear (I quoted your post a few lines too short only).

I was indeed pointing out you're not alone thinking the same. It just happened I've read (and posted) in this FS2020 topic earlier, so this came naturally to point readers to this dedicated topic there too!

[edit: I've now added the missing pieces in the quote to make it clearer, thank you for the note!]

So you did make up your mind in fact... your opinion is not having any (yet) 😉

Understood.  All good. 🙂

Yup, clearly some are not going to be happy with the current madness. Perfectly understandable.  I see it as a short term inconvenience at worst.

I should have printed that out in BIG bold letters years ago and my life might be very different today.

It was written by Neil and released in 1980 so you had plenty of time! 👍

THIS. Asobo has to be really careful now, because those XBOX people will lose interest in a minute if that game crashes or performs badly. Anyone walking away from the game is a lost income through payware shares etc.
That's a whole another crowd compared to us poor PC simmers who pay a fortune for their one and only hobby and have sustained a lot of negative things over those years and still come back to their one and only love. I mean I played P3D5 for over a year with a CTD every 5th flight or so; any other game I would have thrown in the bin after one week.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

To know whether the box will be a boon for flight simulation quality-wise, for me as an user, is unpredictable at that stage. I can build  a couple of scenarios but none of them really convinces me.  I hear from fellow simmers wishful thinking and I hear fears, none of them that I really share, I could go further but I have filled today my quota of controversial posts for a week 😁

In any case it is good to send good vibes to this new community. I read that there were some detestable posts on the official forums. Avsim, we are the good guys. Right ?

Multiplayer is fine, I just never read the instructions for anything. Sheesh!

It’s never too late so print it up now! I’m learning piano, ahem, and flight simming. 🙃

What are ‘players’?
Is it a game?
How do you win?

When I stop using my flight simulator, I might check this game out.

Please substitute "players" and "game" with your own elite simmer terms by all means....

Honestly, I'm actually glad that Xbox users are the majority now.  Might knock the sim snobs down a peg or two.
