MSFS not reading my Community folder anymore in 1.18.14

Featured Replies

Hi, Last night MSFS had an update to version 1.18.14. Almost 50GB.

As far as I can see, new stuff to discover, but most annoying though is that it doesn't recognise the FBW A320 anymore.

It is in the Community folder but won't show up in the aircraft listing.

I installed it again to no avail.

Anybody got a suggestion?

It's unstable at the moment anyway. Better wait for a patch.

It was pulled from the store because it caused problems with SU5. Now that FBW updated the stable version to 0.6.2 for SU5 it may make it into the store again. For the time being and actually in general you better use the dev version using the FBW installer which is rock solid (on my rig) and updated permanently

The new installation is not reading my community folder that I have installed separately.

Worked till now, but obviously I have to direct MSFS to that folder again. But where is that stored?

Go to the FBY site and follow their uninstall instructions, then use their downloader to install the DEV version (the stable version is broken). It works fine, no problems at all. Oh, and remember to update it every day.

Uninstall the FBW from the 'marketplace' first.

Then install the FBW developer version into your community folder.

Thanks for all the help, but I am using the direct download, not the marketplace version. Also, I use the dev version and until this MSFS update to 1.18.14 my community folder was read fine.

But now it seems that this version is not reading the directory anymore that holds my Community folder and Official. I checked with an add-on airport that is also in the COmmunity folder and I see the default one instead. So, the Community folder is not read.

I had that set up once during the initial install of MSFS. But I cannot find where MSFS stores that information.

I'm not sure when you did your last A32NX update. To be safe: you know that the A32NX is a separate aircraft for a long time now (listed separately in the aircraft menu)?

Thanks, been flying it every day.....

It is not the FBW, it is MSFS not knowing anymore where my Community folder is stored........ that is the culprit to be honest......

I think there's a config file somewhere, where you can define the location of the comm folder. But I can't remember where it is.

EDIT: could be in UserCfg.opt

I am currently testing the latest Dev version of the A32NX and everything is working fine.
