August 7, 20214 yr Hi, Just wondering if anyone is experiencing this also. On all GA Prop planes, after flying for about 1-3 minutes, my G1000 screens go blank and there’s nothing I can do to restart them, except to reset the flight. This is a problem that I have had prior to SU5. But I was hoping that it would be cured by the update or hotfix, but no such luck. I have already gone thru the process to see if any of my hardware would be interfering in any way, but could not find anything. Community folder is empty. I have no addons. And a far as starting & ensuring that the alt/gens are on…they are. I also ensure that there’s no conflict with my Honeycomb yoke switches. My install is all default without any mods of any kind. And actually, this is an ongoing problem for me since SU2! I’ve posted in the past, but unfortunately no one has been able to help. Some have told me though, that it is a known issue and that some people suffer from it. But that’s about it. One things that is different with this issue since SU5, is that now, I no longer get a warning on the G1000 screen saying that I’m on “Standby Batt”. Now it just goes blank after 2 minutes. Just "reaching for straws" hoping that some would maybe just have some new insight on this for me. I would sure love to be able to fly any aircraft with the G1000 in MSFS again! Thanks all. Mario
August 7, 20214 yr No clear idea since I've never had an issue with the G1000 in any plane, but it may be worth trying to install the G1000NXI early access package from the in game store to see if that will work on your system. You have to "buy" it in the store (it's free), and then if you later decide you do not want it, it is easy to delete from the content manager, so there is no risk in trying. edit... forgot to add, if you have the WT G1000 mod in your community folder, make sure to delete it before running the NXI, as they will conflict. August 7, 20214 yr @Marioalberto Are you getting this problem with the default G1000, or with the G1000 NXi addon, in the Marketplace? August 7, 20214 yr Author Hi JYW, I'm getting it with the G1000. I do not have the G1000 NXI installed. Thanks for the input Hi Sigwolf, I you saying to go to the Content Manager and delete the G1000, and then to go to the market place just simply install the G1000 NXI addon? (sorry for the basic question, but I haven't dove into the addon world in MSFS yet....been happy with the default stuff.) Thanks, Mario

Thanks, Mario No, the delete is only necessary if you manually installed the Working Title G1000 mod in your community folder. If you were just using the default G1000, there is no need to delete anything in Content Manager. Just go to the marketplace and install the G1000 NXI and you are good to go. If you later decide you do not want to use the NXI, it can easily be deleted later in the Content Manager, and you will be back to the default instrument. Thanks, Mario Hey Mario, You don't need to delete the default G1000, in order to use the G1000 NXi. Simply installing the G1000 NXi addon from the Marketplace, will replace the default version. I'd strongly suggest trying the NXi because, (i) it's far superior to the default G1000 and will eventually replace it as stock, and (ii) it may resolve the issue you are having with the default G1000 cutting off. Mario I'm not an expert in any way shape or form, but it sounds a bit like you don't have a generator on and are just using the battery which then dies... Is this worth checking? The standby Batt light may not be working rather than the other way around. Graham, Edited August 7, 20214 yr by Moria15 System specs... August 7, 20214 yr Author Hi Moria15, Yes, I have ensured that the Gens/Alts are on, I have also in the past reversed the switches in case they were working in reverse as you suggested. Unfortunalety, without any luck. Thanks for the input though. I think that what I'm going to do now is forget about trying to figure this out and just install the G1000 NXI from the Marketplace as Sigwolf and JYW suggested I do. If it solves the problem, I don't care that I'm using a MOD instead of the DEFAULT, as long as I can once again fly prop planes in MSFS! Thanks for all your advise Sigwolf, JYW, and graham, I will report the outcome once I install the G1000 NXI. Mario
August 8, 20214 yr Author I was going to do the test suggested above (to load the G1000 NXI), but I read in one of the forums that with SU5, the G1000 NXI is now the default working title by MS on planes using the G1000. Can anyone confirm this? In any case, it may be coincidence, or luck, but I just did a few quick test runs on the sim today, and not once, did the G1000 go blank. Don't know if my issue is resolved, but, I will post any relevant information if any comes about. Mario
