Performance degradation FS2020 SU5 HF2 and FBW A320Neo?

Featured Replies

Over the last two days I made a couple of 2 hours flights using FBW's A320Neo and noticed that towards the end of those flights framerates dropped ~50%.  From ~40 fps to <= 20fps. To make sure that this degradation was caused by "something" during the flights, I restarted FS2020 and positioned the FBW A320Neo at the same spot where the previous flight ended, using the same weather conditions (live weather). After this restart framerates were up to the new normal again (~ 40 fps). Am I the only one experiencing this phenomenon? (This only happened since SU5 HF2, by the way). Can it be caused by FBW's A320Neo (a memory leak) or is it FS2020 to blame here? None of my settings were changed compared to SU5 and before.

Thanks,

There is another whole thread for this,

I had exactly the same issue, for me I was using real time online traffic. I would start and get a solid 60 fps and then after around 2 hours it would drop steadily to 30 fps. I turned traffic off then on ant back up to 60fps.

Since Friday hotfix I have done multiple 2+ hour legs with traffic off and not had an issue

Thanks, I didn't see that thread. I will disable online traffic immediately.

Or you could try turning it off then back on, I didn't do that to see how long it took before the FPS started to drop again

Yes, I'll give that a go during tomorrow's flight. There still is a lot to be fixed by MS/Asobo to get FS2020 to work at least as it did after SU4 again 🙂 .
