Back on topic its the folks like WT and FBW and several other modsers that keeps MSFS from being laughable at the moment. Edited August 15, 20214 yr by jbdbow1970

It did a parallel entry for my GPS RWY 28 at KSUE today as I approached the IAF from the opposite direction. I am impressed! I just flew the RNP-Z 13R approach at KPSP, in the Rob Young Bonanza. It is a very complex combination of RNP curved RF legs and a precise vertical descent path with multiple altitude constraints, and the NXi did it flawlessly. AFAIK, no current P3D add-on can do this approach correctly - not even the top-tier PMDG and FSL products. Mongo impressed! August 15, 20214 yr OK. As a non pro or pilot I have to ask this so forgive. What does the nxi do that the standard G1000 doesn't? Is there a manual?

Too much to list, is the honest answer. But for me, there is one feature that makes the NXi absolutely essential, and that's;- The ability to perform a DTO (Direct To) In the stock G1000 unit, you cannot perform a proper direct to whatsoever. Let's say your flying from EGNT > POL > TNT > EGBB. Let's say, you divert from the flight plan for weather, or because ATC asks you to. After some time, ATC (or you) clear you back on track, with "proceed direct to POL". In the default unit, you cannot proceed direct to POL, without it deleting the rest of your flight plan (this was a constraint with the default G1000 and 530s in FSX/P3D too). In the NXi, you can perform that direct command and the aircraft will fly from it;s current position to POL, and then continue with the remaining flight plane. The above feature is absolutely essentual for online flying, like VATSIM, but is IMHO essential for any flying, unless you always, 100% fly the exact loaded flight plan, with no variation from it. There are tons of other improvements too; even the fonts and flight mode annunciations for the AP are lightyears better in the NXi. The only manuals are the official NXi pilots manuals that can be downloaded from the Garmin web site. For legal reasons, WT cannot really include those in the package. The NXi has a completely new flight planning system that is independent of the buggy and limited default planner on the world map (though the default planner can still be used). It will do things that the default G-1000 cannot, including automatic entry into holding patterns, support for VNAV in descents, the ability to fly complex RNP approach procedures etc. WT will eventually be overhauling the default MSFS flight planner, and some of the upcoming improvements to that are already available in the NXi. August 15, 20214 yr Thanks to JRBarrett and and JYW for the helpful replies. I've seen mention of a keyboard. How do you access it?

Oh cool. I would like the feature to see SIDS, STARS and Approaches visually on the map, all at once in different colors, and then be able to choose one. When are Navblue Charts coming to MSFS?? http://youtube.com/c/Greazer

When you're in the FPL page of the NXi, there is a small keyboard icon, you click on that and can then type in waypoints, etc, using your keyboard. It's awesome! Just remember to deselect that icon after use, or normal MSFS key commands won't work. Ah! I see the icon when I click direct to. But that's no good. Edited August 15, 20214 yr by jarmstro
August 15, 20214 yr It's for waypoint entries... look at the above post for the icon. Best- Carl Avari-Cooper

August 15, 20214 yr Try going Direct somewhere- BTW- this should be a different topic- this one is to thank WT. Back to the scheduled programming...for me. Best- Carl Avari-Cooper

August 15, 20214 yr Thanks or no thanks there needs to be a tutorial on YouTube or somewhere. Preferably in sim. Most people do not posses mystic powers. Edited August 15, 20214 yr by jarmstro
