My car gauge modification...

Talk about an unusual topic :-lolI modified my car gauges tonight... I bought white gauge faces for my car, and scanned them so I could make templates out of them, and started thinking of ideas of what designs to do... and I came across a thought:I love planes so much... why don't I imitate aircraft instruments?So, here you are... the first of 6 gauges, the speedometer. Actually I kinda like to know how fast I'm going when I'm coming in for landing after launching off a sharp crest in the road, hence the IAS. :-lol

Gee, Todd, your red line is the same as Vy on my Piper Dakota! ;-)That must be an older car, when the feds used to mandate those 85mph speedos (unless CA still has that requirement for new cars). Lou, I can't login to the forums... I keep getting an account deactivated error, even when creating a new account.The car is a 92 Jeep Cherokee, BTW.There is no requirement on speedometer limits... just on how fast you push the needle ;)I've already outfitted the gauge cluster with red backlighting to imitate the red lighting in some aircraft. I just need to create all the other gauges. By the way, does anyone have any ideas on what to replicate with the battery, oil, water, and fuel gauges? I'd go with the Garmin 1000's or the Primus Epic series avionics, but since your going analog let's see if we can find you some good old cessna style avionics.Hehe.
