Avionics have suddenly started to turn off! Any ideas?

I have only had that problem on my last two flights, when I was using the reverse thrust of the propellers to move the plane backwards, I must have got heavy handed with the throttles. Thank you for your help Bob.

I was still having the problem even while being gentle with the throttles, but I have found out what was causing it, the flight engineer was switching the auto feathering switch on, this was causing the engine to feather, I switched it off and now it does not happen.

I have been flying the DC6 since it first came out and the problem I was having with  the engine shut down only materialized yesterday, why I dont know, strange one.

The autofeather is supposed to be turned on as the last thing, when completing the pre takeoff checklist. That is because if on the takeoff roll, an engine quits, at low altitude and airspeed, the pilot may not have enough time to manually feather the prop from the failed engine, before the aircraft hits the ground. The autofeather circuit looks for a MP pressure above 30" and then reduced, which would indicate that engine failed and autofeather should be activated for that engine. All normal operation. Just keep MP below 30 when taxiing into takeoff position, and I would advise below 20", prior to takeoff and the autofeather will not trip. Turning off the autofeather switch prior to takeoff is dangerous and would never be done in real life, unless you want to crash from an engine failure.

Reverse thrust after SU5 causes autotfeather problems. I never use it, I use a pushback app. In the real aircraft, reverse thrust is rarely if ever used.

Understood Bob, I think what I will do is switch it back on when I am about to take off. I will keep trying your suggestions though.

This happens to me all the time in the Longitude when I start from cold and dark, because I always forget to turn the generators on once the engines are running.
