August 24, 20214 yr I assume you were in the F-16? Nice docking procedure. How do you gauge that to know where the boom is given the receptacle is behind you? Not being a Falcon pilot, I would like to know. Refueling mid-air ain't easy! Then when you get very close you can use the lights on the under side of tanker to tell you, forward/back & up and down. But its more about feel and keeping the "picture" and trusting the boom operater. David Murden.
