If you want to go back to the navdata you were using previously, try this:

1. Go to Windows Control Panel, System Properties, Advanced, Environment Variables

2. See if you can find an entry like GNSDBFILE or GNSADBFILE and delete it

Some users have told me that this works... if you also

3. Restart the PC to make the changes stick. 🙂

This means for any change to take effect if the app is running, you have to quit the application first (Prepar3d for example) then start the application again.

Sounds good.. but users are reporting to me that they had to restart the PC for it to work.. 😉

It might be the case if they edit "system environment variables" instead of "user environment variables".

There are 2 sets of, and as much as you need to restart the app for the user type, you have to restart the system for the system type!

Sounds to me that your update sets a "system environment variable"...  assume you would know.. 😉

cross checking right now...

...back from cross checking:

The installer is clearly configured to setup a "user" environment var, not a "system" one...

maybe something specific with some Windows installations?! At least these posts gave the opportunity to document further so that others could find answers more easily in the future! Thank you for your feedback Bert!!

I purchased RXP Gns530W v2.

I would like to verify the default install version RXP Gns530 Database / Navdata (screenshot) is correct or not?

As best I know, the RXP GNS currently comes with a 2016 database as default, so this looks right.

If you need something newer, contact me via PM.

Actually there is a few more than just 2016, it is all documented in the readme.txt here*:

C:\ProgramData\Reality XP\Common\GnsTrainer\dbfiles\readme.txt

*and in our release notes as well
https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/534861-19jan22-rxp-gns-530w430w-v2-fltsim-v242110-released/
