P3D 5.2 - Need Help - Lost all Clouds textures

I have lost all textures of Clouds in P3D after installations and uninstallations of betas of ActiveSky P3D and ASCA P3D.

Whatever I try I cannot recover them.

I have reinstalled CONTENT, SCENERY etc. to no avail.

With ActiveSky and ASCA uninstalled, by setting, for example, the Gray and Rainy default scenario I still see no clouds.

Precipitation does appear on the windows, the sky is misty, but no clouds (slewed vertically up and down to go through cloud layers but no clouds can be seen).

Where are the default Clouds textures installed so I can check ? What should I look for there ?

I have installed and resintalled P3D 5.2 the proper way but still I cannot see clouds.

Same happened to me. Default your in sim settings. The other way to tell you have the bug is that the cloud sliders become greyed out with or without EA active. A simple default then manual rebuild of the settings will fix it.

Kyprianos Biros - If you are talking about the clouds in P3D without Active Sky then there are no default  cloud textures with this sim. The cloud and sky is dynamically generated in real time relying upon the internal software programmed into P3D via EA and True Sky!. The Shaders folder controls light, shade and colouring and the Volumetric Cloud config provides the definitions used by the internal mathematical alogrithims that True Sky and EA work upon. 

You appear to have a corrupted or damaged primary installation of P3D. If you have done a complete reinstallation as you indicate then I would try doing this:

Remove and delete everything you have with AS first.

Delete the Shader Folder (Shaders HLSL) in your main P3D sim directory.

Then delete the P3D config and Volumetric Cloud config files in the user/user/roaming/LM/P3D folder.

Now run the P3D client install and select repair and then do the same for the P3D content module. Doing this will reinstall the default SHADERS folder and the various config files. This should fix any corruptions in the main program. 

Now run P3D and allow it to rebuild the config file. When you run P3D you will have to reconfig the sliders settings etc that you normally have. 

First Have a look at the default start scenerio, aircraftm airport and weather, you should get the F35 at KRND and the weather which is just a few cumulus clouds and nil wind. You should see that again if your installation has repaired itself and this will tell you that the shaders and True Sky is working again. 

IF that is the case now do a complete fresh download and installation of the current version of Active Sky which is 7900. 

IF none of that works then I can only suggest you download the original P3D files and sorry to say start all over again with a fresh installation. Do not worry about your addons etc they will all be there when you do this!

Did you try turning EA ON and keeping the default clouds (non EA)? Or enabling EA clouds (any quality), I sometimes lose the clouds (it happens when I use Skyforce3D and chose a new clouds set) and I can get them back by playing with EA options..

Just returning back to the thread to say a Thank You.

I did all sorts of uninstallations reinstallations from scratch (without removing add on's) and eventually I have back P3D working fine.

I run it first time with default configuration without changing anything.

Then progressively I started changing my preferences by using my saved back up config's and each time trying to see results.

One of the many things I did was to set all the software running by going to its  : Right-click -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Run this program as an administrator -> Apply.

Maybe this is what changed the behavior.

All is good now.
