Having had multiple variations of flight equipment over the years but never the space to have a dedicated PC just for simming, I am curious how many of us, especially with yokes, have to mount them to our desks every time we want to fly, or keep them mounted to our desks and risk banging our knees on them all the time.

I would love to have a Honeycomb yoke and Throttle but my desk space is limited as I also have to work at the same desk and need the table space during the day for the keyboard and mouse.
As a result, I only have space for a HOTAS, which I need to 'set up' when I want to fly. I have had yokes in the past but always had to mount them to the desk when I wanted to fly which is a pain.

I have also had various HOTAS solutions, some mounted to metal frames that then clamp to my desk when I want to fly but I have never had the luxury of having a PC and the space just for simming.

So I'm curious, how many of us actually have the space and have a mounted yoke at our computers?

I have everything in a cupboard just behind my desk and set it all up whenever I fly. It takes 2 minutes and I don't even have to stand up.

I have the CH Products Yoke mounted in the way, and I was actually considering going to MicroCenter today to get the Airbus joystick and throttle so it was out of my way.

I use my laptop 99.98% of the time on another desk in my pc room. As a result I only use that PC for MSFS, but honestly I want to use it for more because it's so powerful.

I mount my yoke/throttle quad to my desk with the Honeycomb pad units when I want to fly. Much better system than using clamps of some kind.

Do you mean this micro suction pad base? I didn't know it came with that until you mentioned it. https://youtu.be/y46lKT4GLdw?t=35

As part of my retirement planning, I vowed to have a dedicated space for my sims, radios, and musical instruments.  I ended up with a ~25' x35' room in a finished basement that answer the mail perfectly.

I have my primary simulator with a floor-mounted yoke and center console situated on the center section of a large G-shaped wraparound desk system, and 90 degrees to the left of the sim is my daily driver PC, which also runs ancillary sim programs via the LAN (weather, ATC, moving map, flight planner etc).  All I have to do is swivel 90 deg one way or the other to shift attention between the sim and the rest of the digital world.  90 deg to the right is a gaming PC with a steering wheel semi-permanently mounted on the desk for driving sims and racing/FPS games etc.  If I swivel 180 degrees, the wet bar is straight ahead.  In the real world it was 12 hours from bottle to throttle...here it's more like 20 feet.  😜

Mid-room, I have a portable system set up with a detachable Warthog HOTAS system clamped to the desk, which is used for simming when travelling and for DCS (and occasionally FSX) when at home.

My sim station is only used for simming.

I have alpha and beta Honeycombs, TPR pedals and A10 Hotas with 12" extension by Thrustmaster, VKB joystick for short LH stick. Several home made controls like Collective and AP panels for different aircraft.

My setup keeps changing as my simming changes. Originally built for X-plane, now only FS2020 is used.

I keep upgrading as better stuff comes out or I learn about it. Air Manger profiles for all the planes and heli models I fly.

I also have only had 3 CTDs ever in FS2020 since day 1, very few problems and never had FS2020 be unplayable. I think this is because my computer has no extra apps other than Navigraph and AirManager as well as HDT carrier module. I do have a lot of third party planes and Orbx etc airports.

I don't use this computer for browsing or downloads of third party additions even. I use a Mac for that and virus check before trans firing to the sim computer.

Yes it is extravagant but it works great.

What an amazing set up. I'm so happy for you that you have everything that you want to fly the virtual skies! I loved my VKB joystick and extension. It was one of my favourites.

I have everything, except for a dedicated yoke, throttles and rudders. Looking to get the full honeycomb setup once their rudders come out.
