I’m struggling these days…

Featured Replies

Two things,

1) Are you using EA? (I am sorry if I missed this somewhere in your post). EA can be a bit frame heavy (depending on the weather around), specially when you are taking off/landing. We don't know your settings also so we can't really say what could be the cause.

2) A lot of people report heavy frame issues with the newer NGXu cockpit since it was slapped with PBR. Maybe try the other aircrafts and see if you get the same frame drops.

Hello once again.

works Kees me busy these days, sorry for the late response.

update:

after only flying from airports from flightbeam (p3d v5 installers…don’t know if they are v5 native though) the stutters are much less of an issue.

secondly, someone mentioned that the NGXu was heavy to begin with. I did a flight with the  pmdg 747 and there weren’t any real performance issues to speak of.

I appreciate all the feedback in this thread! Thank you everyone so much!

as I said earlier, work keeps me busy so this may be a multi day project for me in terms of troubleshooting.

have a good weekend!

Are we really going down the route of suggesting that people will not be able to post in the P3D forum if they have uninstalled it?

Not at all Christopher but the poster was adamant he was finished with P3D.

So are we going to be adamant that those who haven't tried MSFS can't post in those forums either?  Not sure when we imposed an "if you don't use the sim you can't comment" rule but that would have kept a lot of people out of the MSFS forum commenting on things they have no experience with...

See what I did there 😉   Just playing Devil's advocate but threatening to not allow a user to post in a forum b/c they don't use that simulator is opening an ugly can of worms and not something I've ever seen enforced in any of the forums other than "here:"  I can think of a few users who this would preclude from the MSFS forums right off the bat.

@psolk, you're reading too much into my post. Of course people are free to post in any forum even if they don't own the product. My own posts in MSFS forum have been questioned by some because I don't own the product.

It's all about content and intent. Stirring things up is not welcome in any forum but sensible debate is absolutely fine.

@ahsmatt7, if you have the PMDG737NGXu I've discovered that at some airports like Orbx Brisbane the Dynamic Reflections setting has a profound impact on performance. Anything higher than Medium on my system (see below) introduces major stutttering even with a frame rate of 40+.

One to check.

@sonny147, well said. I’ve managed to improve performance at my FlyTampa airports today simply by deactivating 3D people around the airport. They have a “moderate” impact according to the guidance. I can now get 30fps from all directions when slewing around. Previously it dropped to 27-28 with stutters from one direction simply due to those 3D people.
