August 27, 20214 yr Author Thanks for the pointers folks...... attempted to start MSFS and it finally launched normally on the 3rd attempt. Odd one.... like walking on egg shells this sim for me at the moment. I've always been one of the lucky ones, but for no apparant reason it's become very unstable the last few days. In the middle of a non-demanding flight yesterday, I randomly went down to 2 FPS, for no obvious reason!..... could not recover the FPS and had to abort the flight. Also lots of "lost connection" but no issues with my internet. A few times the sim has refused to launch too (not the above 'disc' issue), hanging at various points. This has all came from nowhere, and much of it occurring with an empty Community folder. Load really shouldn’t be an issue. Everything runs on Azure which can spin up capacity on demand.

September 21, 20214 yr I purchased MSFS from the MS store 13 months ago. For the first time I am unable to load the sim. Instead I get the "Please insert the Microsoft Flight Simulator game disk" screen. In addition I am unable to sign in to either the Microsoft Store or the Xbox app. There have been no changes to either the sim or the computer since it last worked two days ago. I have reviewed the threads here on Avsim and on the official site and tried all those solutions to no avail. Any further suggestions would be appreciated.
