We are committed to bringing helicopters into the sim in 2022, but honestly, it’s going to be late 2022 given that it’s complicated

That's probably one of the things that could so with being pinned near the top of every forum discussing MSFS to reduce* the number of "It's 2022, where are the helicopters we were promised?" complaints!😀

*Reduce, because they'll happen anyway.🙄

Hah, believe me, I absolutely don't. Water off a ducks back. However, like for many, we invest a lot of time and money into our hobby and expect at a very minimum that what we paid for (and in terms of addons and rigs) does not regress to the current state it's now in.

Now, how dare you call this a game. It's a sim don't you know 😂🤣😂

If I may, I compare this sim with going out for dinner.

That consist of several ingredient. The quality, location, service, price and company your in.

If the dessert is slighly off, does that mean my evening is ruined??  Not for me.

I'd say it depends on how things go with your date afterwards.  😁

(Or is that what you meant by "dessert"?)

Using the same analogy, I'd say that the starter was really tasty for the first year, but that the main course is not exactly what was advertised as per the menu. The chef has appeared to downgrade my MSFS steak from a filet mignon to a beef shank.

Well, a bad dessert can certainly spoil your date...

Happy with MSFS 🙂

... as I consider myself not belonging to the sheeple, I believe in calling a spade a spade. If no one did, we'd be living in a rather dystopian world (more than it already has become).

IMHO, someone using the term "sheepie" is a bit of a red flag that tends to indicate a lower likelihood of reasonable constructive debate, might be wise to avoid it here if you want to be taken seriously.  My experience has almost universally been that after someone uses that term, they really have no interest in hearing the 'other side' of the argument.

Its fine to call "a spade a spade", but its not ok if you call a spade a "mickey mouse tool unfit for any real digging and probably just a bait and switch from the shovel a real digger would use, undoubtably a plot by the corporate shills to cater to the gardening newbs" ... for example.  I'm not saying you've done that here, but there's been enough examples that feel a lot like that lately, and just hoping its avoided in this thread.

I enjoyed the interview.  I'm generally grateful to any team that develops software for this obscure hobby 😉

FWIW, I have the same experience, and had the same response to this, but I didn't want to get too close to ad hominem in critiquing it.  (Not that I think you have, I just know I was already being difficult in this thread and didn't want to overdo it 😄 )

But, yes, generally speaking when someone feels the need to break out "sheeple" in conversation alarm bells go off in my head and I begin to consider whether they should just be tuned out.  It's fundamentally name-calling and indicates a disrespect for people who disagree with you, as well as possibly a less open mind.   I will admit my memory is weakening as I age, but I truly don't think I can remember ever getting into an argument with someone who talked about "sheeple" and getting them to recant... a single thing, really.

Same with people who dish out the term "conspiracy theorists" and "tinfoil hat wearers" too. Can't stand those people. It's already bad enough we're divided with them labeling and putting people into groups. Makes it easier for us to fight against each other that way, when you attach labels to everything.

What I meant by the word "sheeple" is that I don't just follow a crowd or what is popular. I figure things about myself using critical and dedutive thinking and by being open to both sides to come to a conclusion. I am not calling anyone on these forums 'sheeple'. It's just a stupid expression I used jokingly to say I don't follow the herd. I was speaking in general terms about how I personally think for myself in general in life...i.e. I don't jump on bandwagons.

I think calling that a redflag is a tad strong to say the least and certainly not at all representative of who I am or the point I was making. I always listen to the opinions of others and respect them.

I fully respect those that think MSFS since SU5 is the best thing since sliced bread. My issues have been more that some individuals are not 'listening' or being respectful to those that are having issues since SU5. I equally don't agree with those on here saying the sim is essentially rubbish as it is not even with all its issues. It still has many positives. But if someone is having CTDs all the time, I can understand where they might be coming from in being frustrated and fed up.

I wouldn't exactly say the approach I have just described is indicative to a lower likelihood of constructive debate as you earlier "redflagged" me as potentially having. That's a little strong and could be considered insulting. But I'll rise above it and won't take that way as I am guessing from your other posts that you are a good guy and most likely misunderstood me.

Msfs is more like a brisket.

it takes a ton of time to cook and it’s terrible in the beginning. But when it’s done, it’s the best thing ever.

I don’t actually believe my analogy…I just wanted to get in on the metaphor train….and I just smoked a brisket this weekend. 20 hours total smoke time…goodness.

Will the community be able to enhance this aircraft as they have done and are doing with the A32NX?

I am not just thinking about the FBW project and what they have been able to achieve with the Airbus in the way of systems and code, but the wealth of other aircraft like the DC-6 and the soon to be released DC-3 which doubtless will contain much in the way of innovation that could be imitated in the JU-52 to make it more true to life and fun to fly.

Junkers Ju 52

Ended up picking a plane from Germany known as the JU-52. It’s a famous plane in Germany; a beloved plane. We scan the plane down to 1mm both internally and externally. This is a digital preservation effort.

We can get these planes and integrate it with the simulator and preserve it through some kind of virtual museum. In this case we worked with Bernd Junkers, grandson of Hugo Junkers.

My goal is to keep the pricing as affordable as possible and have as as many people as possible can fly this plane. It really does some service for aviation and the history of it. To bring some of these planes from the past back into people’s brains.

All this food analogy is making me hungry! I'm drooling now. I'm down for a nice and juicy bbq brisket sandwich!

It depends on what you're looking to do.   But, if it's delivered in the same way the Husky is, it will most likely include the encrypted fsarchive bundles, which makes the sort of modifications done for the 320 and the CJ4 more difficult.
