I'm not sure which is worse... the completely unnecessary ad hominem attack, or the fact that someone already upvoted it.

Hopefully Rob, Matt, and everyone else with WT know that there are actually people here that appreciate what they are doing in the sim, and on this forum.

Is there anything more that you could say that can reassure people about it ?Some more information from a person directly\indirectly involved in the project ? Pubblic official comunications channels forget certain aspects sometimes,apart from proclamation of success and stratospheric (undeniable) world updates that certainly costantly improve vfr flights. 

I'm referring in particular to premium airliners (787) and everything that revolves around the ifr flights.

I think calling that a redflag is a tad strong to say the least and certainly not at all representative of who I am or the point I was making. I always listen to the opinions of others and respect them.

I fully respect those that think MSFS since SU5 is the best thing since sliced bread. My issues have been more that some individuals are not 'listening' or being respectful to those that are having issues since SU5. I equally don't agree with those on here saying the sim is essentially rubbish as it is not even with all its issues. It still has many positives. But if someone is having CTDs all the time, I can understand where they might be coming from in being frustrated and fed up.

I wouldn't exactly say the approach I have just described is indicative to a lower likelihood of constructive debate as you earlier "redflagged" me as potentially having. That's a little strong and could be considered insulting. But I'll rise above it and won't take that way as I am guessing from your other posts that you are a good guy and most likely misunderstood me.

Fair enough - both words (sheepie and redflag) are charged and insulting and should be avoided.  Certainly will accept that 🙂

And completely agree that CTDs are an issue that require special handling - being unable to use the sim is about as frustrating as it gets.  Sadly its also the hardest thing for the developer to attack as well, putting aside ones that are readily reproducible - they can be really hard to track down and its a minefield out there with the myriad of hardware/software configurations out there.  I said in another thread that the best thing they can do is output human readable crash logs so that we can aid in the solution.  Not that everyone out here are systems experts, but law of averages says that the more eyes on the issue, the more chance that enough people in the community who are will help spot elusive patterns to fix the problems.  In the meantime, its not realistic for anyone to expect the rest of the dev team to stop what they are doing until every cause is found.  I think we'ld all be having a much different discussion in short order (why is everything stagnating!?) if that were the case.

So long as we can have respectful debate - thats the best we can hope for.  This is an entertainment product after all... perspective and balance is the first thing that gets lost in many arguments 🙂

I can't argue with your opinion of the priorities being put on things, because that is purely a matter of opinion.  But please don't think that those issues are being ignored just because there is no visible progress on them at just this moment.

He works on the sim.. part of Working Title.. he is one of the only people in this thread who actually DOES know...

Well, if the waiter keeps consistently tripping and falling while carrying my dishes and after 3 or 4 iterations it's getting so late that I have to eat a slice of pizza from a deli and go to bed, and the same thing happens four or five nights in a row, then I would be moderately miffed, yes.

Also, if one night the stumbling waiter is off duty and I am presented with an inferior quality dinner, albeit  admittedly very fast, I start wondering if I will ever get back the restaurant I had learned to love.

All this while other customers keep saying that their waiter is perfectly stable, quick, efficient, their food is great as usual, the bill is cheaper, and I am probably imagining things because I am spoiled, I am a whiner, a moaner, a delusional being with nothing good in his life, that these are first world problems, or maybe I am putting flies in the soup because I am an agent working for the restaurant around the corner.

This is just to put things in perspective. Nothing personal of course, but I liked the metaphor .-)
