Not a single question or mention about any fixes after the SU5 debacle or about any upcoming improvements. Not the greatest interview considering what has happened with the update and the division over it. From the many threads and comments over on the official MSFS forum, I am sure he is well aware. No good deed ever goes unpunished. His job is to discuss the innovation and the vision. His job isn’t to rehash support issues so Avsim posters feel better. Edited August 31, 20214 yr by neil0311
August 31, 20214 yr I think there's a lot of frustration about, and has come to a head after SU5. At the point before the release we looked as if the sim was becoming more stable, new aircraft seemed to be progressing well, there was an excitment building that things were progressing at a good pace, and then SU5 came, along with some quite development halting issues. CTD'S returned after being virtually eleminated for a good few months, not to mention the lod issues. It will be interesting to see what unfolds after the coming WU.... hopefully more stablility, and progress for the devs bringing new developments to the sim. August 31, 20214 yr Whenever there's drama with an update, I like to think back to what we had a little over a year ago - sometimes I'll look at old screenshots on my imgur account or watch old streams (and quickly remember why I took a 2-year hiatus from flight simming). It's absolutely insane how far we've come as far as this hobby is concerned in the last year. MSFS is absolutely revolutionary but there'll always be occasional issues/blockers. A huge kudos to Asobo, the WT team and all the other dedicated 3rd party devs out there making this such a rich and amazing experience. I'm wowed just about every flight by something. August 31, 20214 yr There are three or four extremely vocal and extremely negative posters here that go out of their way to make sure every positive thread, and often every individual positive post are countered with their own personal vitriol. Apparently that was not sufficient, so now the tactic is to attack those here actively trying to help and improve the sim. Their priorities are all that matter, they will never be satisfied, and there is really little point in even engaging with them. PC: I9-10900K, RXT 3090, 64GB RAM, 3840x1080 49" super-ultrawide

This is why I've become a lot more assertive recently about encouraging people to make heavy use of their block lists. By all means, welcome a diversity of opinion, the frank but respectful exchange of views, and even well-intentioned disagreement. But, on the flip side, be merciless about excising from your internet life the people and things which have over time proven themselves, to your satisfaction, of not being worthy of your time and attention. Boundless fonts of negativity that serve no purpose other than to be an emotional drain fit that description perfectly. Plus, every now and then you'll get the entertainment that comes from not even seeing random mopes whom you've judiciously ignored insulting you until well-meaning people coming to your defense quote them. 😉 (I've not to date used the feature that also blocks mentions of people you've blocked, because I like to have some visibility into discussions even if I don't care to spend any more time reading what certain people write. Plus I feel like it's good to indirectly see interactions with the folks you have blocked now and then so you can laugh at them and confirm you made the right choice. Or, perhaps, that you made a mistake. But usually it's the former.) Edited August 31, 20214 yr by kaosfere

The people who would be fixing the Premium Deluxe aircraft (which some us, myself included, paid for a year ago now) are likely to be exactly the same people working on things like the Husky and this Ju-52 - whoever the aircraft development and tuning team are at Asobo. Why is the content we already paid good money for not fixed? Because they are too busy making more "content" to take more people's money. Scanning a Ju-52 to 1mm or .01mm or .001mm doesn't help if the thing flies like the 787 or the Longitude with an encrypted FSArchive file due to "licensing". The functional difference between "ignored" and "placed at the bottom of the priority list under a bunch of other in-house cash grabs" is 0. It's the same thing. I appreciate the work that WT puts out but the level of snark being put out as well (Matt being a very clear exception) can be toned down a touch. Maybe when both sides realize that its not a one sided situation in regards to the allegations of "aggression" and takes the initiative to bring the rhetoric down a notch or two then the "disrespect" will end. Also Developers are not sacrosanct. If they are offended and want to take their marbles and go home then i think a focus shift is in order. August 31, 20214 yr Well, I'd not previously clicked on this thread until tonight, and little did I know that there isn't enough popcorn in the world to prepare for this one! Still, as has been said, a good thread for firming up the ol' Ignore List. Heck, I annoy myself sometimes; might just add myself to that Ignore List for a while! 😁 "Just for the record" (love seeing that, on a flight sim forum!)..... I'm happy and love everything. The next time someone on here is annoying you, just think - do you know anyone in your 'real life'.... family or friends... who has a passion for flight sim? I don't. So it's the people here that share your passion. A common addicition to flying pixels must mean we have more in common, than we have in adversity.
