Sync Real World hardware with VR view

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried to "sync" their real-world hardware (yoke & throttle) to their view in VR while utilizing some form of hand tracking?

In other words: You have a real yoke in front of you. You see your hands in VR (either hand tracking or a VR glove of some sort) and when you place your hand on your yoke, your VR hand is aligned with it?

Is it a simple matter of tweaking the location of your real-world yoke until it lines up?

If you also have knobs and switches that are to exact scale of the VR aircraft model, would you be able to immediately locate those real world knobs via your VR hands?

Thank you for any input or suggestions.

I mean, sure I can, but it will only really work well with aircraft with a conventional U/W shaped yoke as my CH Eclipse. Or HOTAS T16000M stick

As flying one of my Embraer or Hawker Beechcraft (handlebar style yokes) wouldn't line up.

Now I’m curious to try this!

Ill record a video of trying it tonight.

Here is me playing around with leapmotion just grabbing in sim controls.

If it works well it will surely tempt me to want to buy the Honeycomb setup even more!😍

I would only use something like Pointctrl  in VR.

It looks cumbersome, not sure I want things wrapped around my fingers while operating yoke/stick/throttle is already enough while wearing an HMD

Well, you could just as in real life flip switches etc on a overhead panel, what you now do with the mouse
