I will never buy a product from the Marketplace if its available for sale by the vendor or 3rd party.

I wonder if Jorg and team realize how much of a PITA it is to use their marketplace?  They are giving up something like a 30% cut if folks buy elsewhere.  I would have thought lost revenue would be a high priority for them.  Maybe it is and they are working on it….who knows.

Its actually very easy to use, the issue is the update frequency.  Some Devs have their updates for things an SU broke ready in a matter of hours in some cases.  If they also sell the plane on their commerce page or simmarket, etc....you can have that fix the same day.   If you bought it in the marketplace...you talking at least a week, and if the update package doesn't pass the the validation check MSFS does for MP packages, you're waiting at least another week.

If a Dev makes the brilliant decision to sell their product ONLY in the MP, you could wait weeks/months for a fix (cough cough MOONEY!!)

They need to have a way for Devs to directly update their MP products to ever having a chance to have me buying from it again.

Maybe third party developers should do a "validation check" with their existing products when a new software update for Microsoft Flight Simulator is released, and then throw it back at Microsoft/Asobo if it fails?

Amen to that!

And a week to have the update to go thru, is very VERY optimistic 😄 its usually close to a month.

It’s not a case of “not being permitted to purchase”. Anyone with money in hand can buy the product. It is how the product is used once purchased and installed. The product cannot be used for a “public performance” (i.e. on YouTube or other streaming services) without written authorization from PMDG).

That’s over $200.00 USD!

Can you rich guys buy one for me and I’ll buy the other?

I've culled out the hijacking of this thread, which was more than half of it.

A few of you keep doing this, and are approaching the point of being declared a public nuisance.  Quit while you're ahead.

Now we're back on topic and concerning the Fenix A320 and/or the PMDG 737NG, here's two book recommendations for you if you are wanting to steal a march on learning a 737NG or an A320CEO. Both of these are great:

For the A320.

For the 737NG.

You're describing the current state of affairs, and as others have stated there are real practical reasons for keeping everything need and tidy in one location.  I predict it will smooth out in the near term because of course there is nothing in it for MS if people migrate out to purchase directly from every single 3rd party content provider--a resounding no thanks to all of that had enough of it in P3D for years w/ myriad addon managers, etc etc ad nauseum.  I really value the one stop shopping experience.  I never need an update 'in a matter of hours' either!  One week out would be completely fine, but as I say I predict they will refine the process because they benefit from this.

One week, try a month and still nothing.

That's right, it's not yet there.  They just need to focus attention on it, there is only so much attention in their workforce. I predict it will improve very significantly, hopefully not far down the road because otherwise it just inspires people to spread out to each developer which, I feel, is a very inelegant, inefficient solution.   Each developer has to maintain the software interface and server space when they could port it over to The Marketplace and let that one entity maintain hosting for all.  If nothing else it's less credit card account information and that is worth something.  One username, one password, access to all new content and updates.  I think messaging them to consider how loyalty to The Marketplace is at stake so they really should prioritize fixing the digital red tape as it were before habits get set in stone.  The whole problem just doesn't seem that difficult to solve, it's just lack of attention on it.

Try getting a receipt for anything you bought on Market Place that makes any sense?
