Help needed setting LODs pls.

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I don't know if I am missing something here. I tried to change my LOD settings in the useropt file (LODs 4 and 9l but it seems that they don't have any visible effect in game. It looks just like before (LODs 2 and 2) with scenery popping right before my eyes.

I can remember seeing Screenshots with buildings and trees almost to the horizon but I can't get this to work...

I tried setting the useropt to write protected but no joy either. Even a completely new file didn't work.

Doe anyone got an idea what might be wrong here?

Best regards

If it's not already like this, set -

{Graphics
       Version (whatever)
       Preset Custom

otherwise I think it will reset/use the LODs from the slider settings in-sim

I have set it to custom in the sim but will check if it's actually set in the cfg file. Thx!

I still get some trees popping (but not all) even with 400, 900.  In general, much better though.  I can't wait for the new WU6, SU6 settings.

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I really hope there will be sliders to make these officially accessible soon. While I use 4, at present, for both, I have always to reset them if I do some beta testing or just benchmarking.

No way I can go higher than 2 under VR, anyway.

Kind regards, Michael

are the LOD settings within sim stay at 100 as I have or do they slide over to 200?

Just a quick question while the UserCfg wizards are here:

Should this stay at quality 0? Or should it be 3?

{Graphics
    Version 1.1.0
    Preset Custom
    {Texture
        MaxAnisotropy 16
        Quality 0

0 is ultra. I believe the values are reversed.

Thanks to everyone! Problem solved by setting the cfg to custom. 🙂
