September 8, 20214 yr The girl is amazing but I get worn out by that type of heavy metal. Im more into Black Sabbath or Alice In Chains. I enjoyed the Eddie Van Halen guitar clip that showed up in the feed. Thats more my style. Bill - you'd like Pink Floyd I bet. Get a copy of Wish You Were Here and don't try to classify it. I wish I knew how to find all the stuff I might like without having to hear so much. | Dave | I've been around for most of my life. It's difficult though to actually ruin S&G's "Sound of Silence..." 😇 Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

Do understand though that I'm coming from the perspective of a classical organist. From early days I'd planned to become a professional concert organist, but alas the partial amputation of the middle, ring and little fingers of my right (dominant) hand put paid to that career choice. Extensive surgery wasn't entirely successful, with 100% nerve recovery, but only 40% muscular and tendon recovery. Five decades of constant practice have at least allowed me to keep myself entertained on my home built digital pipe organ! Fr. Bill - I bet you understand MIDI and all that related stuff. I had a musician friend at one time and he was always hooking things together, recording things, playing along with his own recordings. He used a program called CakeWalk at the time. I remember he told me that he kept playing until he liked what he heard and then he just had to learn to play what he had written. It never occurred to me that a musician would have to learn to play what they themselves had written. Edited September 8, 20214 yr by sightseer | Dave | I've been around for most of my life. I bought a clapped out Conn Artiste console organ that a church had traded in for a shiny new Allen organ. All that was left after gutting the carcass were the wooden console, the three keyboards, and the pedal board. It is powered by two old 486 computers which drive SoundBlaster Pro sound cards. This allows me to run Haputwerk, a master program that can load any of hundreds of digital reproductions of world famous organs. You can hear some examples here: Listen – Hauptwerk I've been using Cakewalk Pro for many years to compose my own arrangements. Fr.
