That's weird. Is it the same with all aircraft?

Yes it is, but only on ground, up in the air it is butter smooth at max Ultra.

It's almost unplayable for me as long as I'm on the ground, as soon as my wheels are up in the air everything's buttery smooth, on the ground it's a slide show, especially when panning in external view, even at lowest settings,  something must be terribly wrong with my game as I apparently is alone with this problem, so I guess it's just reinstalling.

What do you see if you enable developer mode and turn on the FPS counter in the options menu? Are you running out of VRAM or normal RAM by any chance?

Have you downloaded all the content in the content manager and the world updates?

Also tried other starting locations, restarted sim etc...?

Not at all, the game does not load more in my memory than before the patch, that is probably the problem, it does not seem to load what is needed.

Yes I have, it is the same slideshow everywhere on the ground, I haven't try the safe mode yet, I haven't find where it is.

Mine is loading more into Ram/Vram  than it was after SU5 update, but not as much as in SU4

Mine is loading about 9 mb ram and 5 mb vram, I have 32 + 11 mb

I'd try a bit more troubleshooting first before a reinstall. If I ever get issues I reinstall my graphics drivers then restart PC. Then leave the Nvidia (in my case) settings at Default. Launch sim then set the preset graphics settings to medium in the sim graphics settings.

If it seems to be working after that then I start tweaking my settings back up.

Yes I will try that first.

Does anyone know if it is ok to leave the Navigraph data folder in the Community folder when updating? I have everything else removed via the addon linker

I removed nothing but the flightsim.to airports that were featured in this new update such as LOWK. I did not remove Navigraph  but I did update it before going into the sim, after having done the Sim update. There is an update for it. So in summary you do not need to remove Navigraph.

Why isn't it using more of my system and GPU memory? Even with pre terrain caching set to ultra its still using only 9GB of system ram and 7GB of VRAM?

Not sure If it's direct result of the pre-cach at ultra but the sim performs very good now.

I noticed that too at for instance  London and FT EKCH , but it looks better and performs better so..... :-)

This culling setting is literally amazing. At Ultra, panning pop-in is totally gone (High is not too awful either), and at least as far as I can tell, performance in a CPU-limited scenario is not that much worse. RAM usage does not go up a lot as well.

This goes to show that Asobo's work into the engine's optimisation goes far beyond the off-screen scenery culling. Honestly, I think they could have gotten away by disabling the culling on PC and avoiding all these complaints. A great amount of users would still enjoy a noticeable performance boost without visual degradation. But what's done is done.
