Questions about flight-psychological test

Recommended Posts

I know that is not required here in the US. All you have to do here is get a simple physical and you are good to go.

My suggestion would be to find a Swedish airline pilots forum or Swedish aviation forum that might be able to help! But then again you probably done that already :)

It is called a Psychometric Test. There are three that I know about that have many similarities: PILAPT, COMPASS and GAPAN. Try searching Google. Generally they consist of coordination, 3D visualisation, instrument appreciation, memory and multi-tasking tets hence they mainly assess your ability to complete flight training with minimum problems. Some of the test require the use of joysticks and rudder pedals. However, the controls don't always work the way you expect, you are meant to adapt quickly! In addition, ones like PILAPT and COMPASS also assess your general suitability to be an airline pilot with mental math and general problem solving. Some of the tests are designed to completely overload you and test your ability prioritise and act decisively. The GAPAN test is UK only, is voluntary and conducted at RAF Cranwell using the a subset of test battery used to assess RAF flight crew candidates so is pretty proven. The PILAPT and COMPASS tests (or variations thereof) are used generally for acceptance onto some integrated courses and universally for sponsorships. The Qantas site publishes an example problem solving paper.http://62.3.209.83/pilapt/http://www.epst.com/com/adv_compass.htmhttp://www.gapan.org/careers/aptitude.htmhttp://www.qantas.com.au/infodetail/about/...ment/QTests.pdf
