HP Laserprinter

Recommended Posts

Hi,

It's the first time i need to replace toner for my HP Color Laserjet MFP M277dw. I bought a set of the 4 color cartridges because of the fairly fair price however only the Cyan and Yellow colors are 0%. Black and Magenta are respectively still at 40% and 30%. What i would like to know is, do i replace only the Cyan and Yellow cartridges from the 4 color set and keep the Black- and Magenta cartridges for later use ? Or would it be better to replace all 4 cartridges all at once ?....

Thanks very much for and hints/tips !

I'd just replace the empty ones and save the other two to use when those become empty.

Thanks Bob !

I don't use the printer a lot, i was just worried if a new toner cardridge might become inoperable when it is not used for a long period of time, say half a year or longer...

No problem. I have an HP Color Laser which gets used about as much as yours. No issues identified.

Thanks pgde, good to know. The thing is i used to print FS aircraft manuals until i found a much better and less troublesome way a year or two ago: have a online printshop do it. Compared to what i had to pay for that at a local printshop say 10 years ago the cost has diminished dramatically and get it spiral bound with cover and all. I'd be crazy to continue doing it myself. 🙂

The only printers that get awkward when you don't use them a lot are inkjet printers. I always buy laser printers now. No more clogged jets. And cheaper per print too.

I wonder if the inventor of the laser realised that one day his/her invention would be used for everything from burning hairs off ladies private regions to guiding bombs on targets? Not to mention trying to ignite nuclear fusion in little pellets containing hydrogen deuterium and tritium.
