Last word on that Mi-2 I swear....

As the sun started to set at Santa Barbara I found myself standing on the ramp gazing at her.  I became mesmerized by the sunlight playing across her suggestive curves, rivets and bulges.  Her wide, child-bearing hips that carried so many generations of soldiers into service across Mother Russia.  Her ample intakes thrusting proudly forward as a symbol of national Soviet pride.  I swear she looked at me and gave me a wink - a wrinkled lazy-eyed wink, but a sign in return nonetheless.  Never mind the oil slowly dripping onto the tarmac.  Dare I say it... I think I may be falling for you, my dear Svetlana...

Anyway, the specs in the flight config file seem to be highly questionable (like,, an 1128-mile range, really?) and an empty weight of 1450 pounds, max gross of 2500 pounds, when Wikipedia lists her as 2300kg/5070 pounds empty, 7826 MTOW.  So like any true dame that may have put on a few pounds over the years she might be telling some little white lies about her weight.  If you fly NeoFly, be warned that these specs price her out at just over $1.5M.  Is she worth it?  A true gentlemen would never say no...

Here are specs for NeoFly with revised range distance set to a more realistic number if anyone finds this useful:  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oe_ogsF88-Yz47Qhpta8I7Ebe7iV_TeEQGLz_sCd1Ik/edit#gid=0

OK final update I swear:  Just did a flight in VR with it.  Upside: Smooth frame rates and really good spatial feeling inside the cabin,  Downside:  The flat, 2D textures on the panels really becomes obvious.  Be aware that it will look like you are flying a cardboard cutout of the aircraft on the inside in every respect.  Nothing to write home about but then again pretty easy to get your money refunded.  It was a NeoFLy flight as well, and to add a payload you only have the pilot's weight to play with.  Radios did not come on using CTRL-E so maybe start from the runway instead of cold and dark and maybe they'll work.

Here is some Mi-2 action, in a James Bond movie (Mi-2 at about the 1:55 mark onward)

In recent MSFS heliocopter news... RSP (the guy/group that brought us the R44) had the following exciting brief announcement and alluring screenie on his/their Discord channel (and apparently the Tweeter, whatever that is) as follows:

"Our #freeware #H125 #helicopter for @MSFSofficial is in Santas workshop. We will release straight to BETA with operational VEMD. The elves are working hard and she will release before Xmas Day. Thank you for your patience! Sorry for delay! Stay tuned" https://t.co/MACnGVcMmB
