The hotfix update 1.19.9.0 was a nightmare

A) Never buy anything from the MS store.....All of your problems will be solved.

Exactly. I never have and never will. So glad I got the game on Steam. Just seeing other uses posts about managing the game on MS Store (update headaches, tweaking headaches) makes me glad I dodged that trainwreck. From start to finish ever since I bought MSFS in May , not a single update issue.

I'm on Steam, MSFS working properly after an easy update.

Hi, there,

I am considering the following procedure for successive updates:

Wait for the day after the update and see if the update is waiting there to install.

If not, uninstall MSFS and reinstall it from scratch (the update will be included).

Regards.

No issue for me with this update, works great and no problem with installation.

What is important, good to have this XBox App on PC, this is the key.

If you prefer to download circa 160 GB of data rather than circa 600 MB, then yours is an excellent idea.
My own choice was to learn how to correctly carry out a simulator update.

No problems with HF store update. started 17.05 on friday

I dont know what the real reason is people are having problems but mine went as smooth as glass.

After installing xbox app on WU6 it went smooth also.

Oh, your settings show Teredo unable to qualify and server blocked and you update successfully?

This can't be my problem then.

Back up your files first and you won’t need to redownload.

I fired up my computer yesterday for the first time since the HF released. I had a couple of hours of work-related tasks to accomplish. When I finally got around to loading the MS Store, I found that the Store part of the hotfix had already been downloaded and installed in the background.

Yes, I was able to update successfully even though Teredo unable to qualify for multiplayer. I have no clue what that means.

You dont have to do that. If you install to a custom folder or drive like say D:\FS2020, if you ever decide to uninstall, only the launcher will be uninstalled. All your community and store files will still be in D:\FS2020, so all you'd have to do is install the launcher from the store, run the game and it will ask where you want to install (default is C), then just browse to D:\FS2020 and the installer will update itself and proceed to install the update or go to the main screen

Every update of MSFS2020 is a nightmare. The 1.19.9.0. was already implemented and before starting up I received message to start in safemode ....but I could play the game (at last).........yesterday I received again a mandatory update (the same !!, so I think this was a hotfix)  and since yesterday I'm again in the nightmare called msfs2020. Menue starts only half, and only the Welcome menue opens...the rest is empty. Cleaned the community folder but the problem still exists. Started up via Xbox....problem exists. Thought maybe It was my update of GPU (AMD Radeon )  software was the problem so downgraded this update to a previous version...but this didn't solve the problem. The only thing I can think of is a clean install....but also the clean installs are nightmares.....downloading time of more then 12 hours........after a fresh install again a mandatory update has to be done and nightmare continues. Anyone an idea how to fix this issue...or just wait for another hotfix/update ?
