New developer contacts LR/Austin Meyer: "Hello Austin.  I have no add on experience.  I'm making my first add on.  Realistic looking clouds.  I'm working on them and I'm almost positive they will come out looking great.  Will you pay me a fee to add them to default X-Plane?"

Are you seriously saying that LR will have implemented new clouds from a new developer with no add ons to his credit, and no track record of committing to a project?  Just his word?

Please tell me you're smarter than that!

It is a bit more absurd actually, this will most likely need some overhaul since Xplane12 will be so much different. So in this case, people want LR to add features that they know will *break* and *stop working* possibly *every update* while they were working on Vulkan/Metal. No thanks. This is not how you create a stable working product and LR choice to overhaul the simulator game engine first is the way it should be done. No sane person will build a house without solid foundations.

I'm having an issue with the install.  When running the ES installer, a popup opens saying 'To run this application you must install .NET' then directs to the site to download.  After installing dotnet runtime 5.0.10 x64 the same pop-up still opens 'To run this application, you must install .NET'.  Thus can't get past the pop up and it won't install.  Anyone else have this and resolution?

I think you are downloading the wrong runtime. There is a desktop runtime and a console runtime, try this link: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet/thank-you/runtime-desktop-5.0.10-windows-x64-installer

PC specs: i5-12400F, RTX 3070 Ti and 32 GB of RAM.

Simulators I'm using: X-Plane 12, Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) and FlightGear.

I really hope you can get a version of this working on Mac OS X... There are no decent volumetric cloud addons that run on this platform, and I fear that a lot of simmers who remain on Mac OS are using X-Plane as they have no alternative and can't run MFS

Thank you for this plugin. But, DAM! Why couldn't you release this sooner? You would have saved me a lot of money on xEnviro. 😀

Great job!

I'm actually a bit surprised that you couldn't come up with a better sales pitch for such a good product. Then again, I'm not 😉

Well, to whomever is on the fence about this add-on: Remember that X-Plane 11 will not stop working anytime soon. Yes, there will be a X-Plane 12, but it will likely go through a lenghty public beta, as is customary for new X-Plane versions.

Well that is a new and exciting way to spin it 😄

Where did you get that impression?

Just installed it. I am sitting on the ground at KCVG, preparing to fly the new Felis 747-200 to KLAX with ASXP weather. There is a scattered layer at 15,000 feet which looks fantastic. No noticeable frame rate impact (so far). We’ll see how it goes enroute. The current satellite map shows it is relatively clear along my route all the way to KLAX, but there should be a low cloud deck along the coastline…

I purchased without regrets. My only remark is that the cloud bases seem flat, as if sliced in the middle and then hiding the lower half. Is there a setting to adjust that?

I had that complaint for EC.

Then I checked plenty of real clouds, and discovered its pretty realistic, and all the ones we see in sims that dont do it are not realistic.

So likely something to moan about in XP12 if they didnt notice.

Some of post from discord screenshot channel. Probably the 2nd best $15 addon ever. xOrganizer 2.0 is still my #1 🙂

From what I have seen, this addon is easily the best cloud enhancer for XP.  If only it was available back in 2016 when the xEnviro scam was selling for $70. But who knows maybe he will work some magic with the new XP.
