Can't take off from KOAK rwy 30 (Oakland) invisible wall?

Featured Replies

Can someone else please confirm if this problem is isolated to just me. I tried taking off with the G36 (modded) and the 152 default but I keep running to what seems like an invisible wall on the runway.

Thank you.

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.
Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).

Would help greatly if you would disclose which runway.

I just tried RY 30, hit the wall, plane nose dived, huge bump in tarmac was invisible. It is right near where I started. Could not take off. EDIT: default c-152.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

So I tried again slowly, went around the invisible 'bump' which is only a few feet in front of the starting spot. And then could take off OK.

Would you know if this happens in other airports too or if this isolated only to this runway and in this airport. Any idea what could be causing it?

There is a smaller invisible speed bump at Modesto Sham 28L, but you can run right over it. It is also right in front of where you start. Smaller than the one at Oakland 30.

Those are the only 2 I know of. Have not seen it anywhere else at all.

Weird. I wonder what will happen when landing. I'll test. Thank you.

I hit one in Dillon Montana shortly after landing and with crash detection on my flight was ended abruptly. I suspect there are more of them out there.

I just tested, the speed bump at Harry Sham field is no longer there. It definitely was there before (a month ago). And I flew SFO to Oakland before weeks ago, and did not find any bumps.

I taxied both RWYs Dillon, MT. just now and saw no problems. These bumps seem to come and go.

Thanks for the heads up. I was looking for the bump in Modesto. I was like in an Easter egg hunt. 🙂

I like flying around in the area (Bay Area). Lots of variety and lots of things to see. Weather changes frequently. It can be quickly sunny and then foggy and vice versa, surrounded by ocean and yet not an island, and  mountains not too far away. And, of course, lots of big (KSFO) and small  (KHAF) scenic airports. I hope Asobo fixes KOAK.

Yeah, I could have sworn there was no problem at Oakland for months, but there sure is now.

I normall flew around Colorado near Tellerude, Northern California, New York/Washington DC, Philadelphia area. And then all over the UK and France. All are scenic. My current favorite is the WU 6  area at Southeastern Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. It looks like God's country to me!
