Powerlines

Recommended Posts

I don't think so, but there are some wonderful mods out there that adds:

"mobile communication, tv and radio antennas, chimneys, radar domes, construction cranes, and satellite/radio telescope dishes."

Region 1:

Region 2:

https://flightsim.to/file/16674/we-love-vfr-region-2

I've been using these for quite a while and I highly recommend them. They really do spice up the environment.

That mod adds lines I believe.  At least I have power line towers hehe.

We Love VFR doesn't add power lines, because we don't have the ability to remove default ones.

Asobo promised to add it, so I will see what I can do with it when we have that feature in SDK. It will be a bit tricky as Asobo already adds power lines based on OSM data. So I don't know if I'll find the missing ones. I'm more into adding painted ones near airports. Plus, FAA data has a lot of power lines in their data marked as... antennas. Mostly in California. Removing manually around 2000 of them was "fun".

Powerlines towers themselves are somewhat Easy to do for someone like puffinflight or for me (i'm the creator of this mod https://flightsim.to/file/14840/project-litfts-europe .

(North America Is coming soon)

When Asobo give us a way to exlcude the default One Is Just a matter of a few  clicks, i've already the procedure to do that

The lines between the powelines Is where the BIG problem is.

Xplane has a specific object for that, msfs does not, i can do the wires  between the towers (see the mod above), but i Need a way to access the exact altitude data for each tower in the msfs world

I do remember someone doing a UK powerlines mod in FSX but not done yet in MSFS.  If there are default power lines in MSFS, then I have not noticed them (or crashed into them), but will take a closer look.

WeloveVFR is a fantastic mod BTW.  Masts are very useful for VFR flight though not so useful for jet jockeys. The author is very open to comments and suggestions too.

Anything that adds a little extra realism is good for me.

Are these add-ons compatible with SU5/WU6? I had some CTDs when SU5 came out which I thought could have been caused by them. But meanwhile I'm not so sure anymore, there are many other deficiencies that could trigger CTDs.

They are compatible but there is still a small chance of freeze on loading for some users. It has nothing to do with these or any other mods (yes, I know removing them fixes the problem). The bug is on the side of Asobo and they found it. It will be fixed in SU6. Drzewiecki and other payware developers had a similar issue.

Whatever this mod is/was, it looks like it has been removed, 404.

I hope that flightsim.to don't just remove mods that were not confirmed compatible.  They could just be placed in a section on their own where those of us that use them could confirm whether they work OK if the author has not confirmed himself.

Personally, I'm using a number of mods that seem to be fine, though have not been confirmed as SU5 compatible.

i see this on a lot of mods and it makes me nervous

Compatibility with Sim Update 5 has not yet been confirmed.

How does a mod confirm its compatibility?
