Disable radio auto-tune?

Recommended Posts

Is there an option to disable the radios (COM, Squawk) from auto-tuning themselves with the default ATC?I went through all the settings and couldn't find the option. *shrug*Pat

No, there is not. However, you CAN tune manually before "acknowledging the last transmission" if you (a) work fast and (:( don't mind getting yelled at for not acknowledging immediately... ;)Frankly, I just pretend my copilot or pax is doing his/her share of the cockpit workload...

No, but it should be an option.

I submitted it today as SP1 feature/fix request. Might be too late, if noone else has submitted it before, but better now than never.Maybe it's just an undocumented fsx.cfg setting?

It's the same as in FS 9 so I'm sure it will stay this way. I also always enter the freqs manually before I acknowledge: it's just more like the real thing. ;)

If I understand you correctly when you say 'auto-tune', are you saying that once you acknowledge your last message your radios change without any further action from you? I would like for mine to do that. I always have to press 'tune ***' in order for the radios to change. I would like to have it done automatically as if a co-pilot set it for me.TerryYour Freedom, My Choice.

The only auto tune I know of is with the squawk code. Once you acknowledge your clearance it will set your transponder. Like a poster mentioned above, you can do it yourself prior to acknowledging the call but usually ATC barks back at you if you copied last call.Perhaps one easy fix if ACES dont want to change the auto part is just delay the time between ATC call and their follow-up call of acknowledgement.
