The Mystery Of Missing Liveries

Recommended Posts

I hope someone can solve this mystery

I installed P3dv5.2 HF Client after deleting the previous one

P3Dv5 is installed on a dedicated SSD G:\ Drive

All PMDG liveries (737, 777x and 747s) and QW878s liveries disappeared from P3Dv5 "vehicles" choice window. FSLabs A320 and A321 are visible

PMDG and QW are installed correctly in the right Folders G:\LM\..... and all liveries are showing in SimObjects\Airplanes

Any insights will be very appreciated

Bill

When you say "after deleting the previous one" I hope you mean after uninstalling the previous client version, as in with the uninstaller and not by deleting files manually.  If you deleted a bunch of stuff manually, I can't even guess as to what you may have done to your config.

You said all the "liveries" disappeared from the vehicle choice menu--are there *any* of those acft in the selection list, e.g. the default liveries?  Is the "favorites" star highlighted?  If reinstallation cleared out your favorites list, it may be filtering out the liveries not marked as favorites (all of them).

When you say "all liveries are showing in SImObjects\Airplanes" what do you mean exactly?  That the texture folders are there?  Are the [fltsim.n] sections present in the aircraft.cfg files?

Also, check your simobjects.cfg file (in C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5) and make sure that (a) it's there, and (b) you have an entry pointing to the default SimObjects folder; something like:

[Entry.0]
PATH=SimObjects\Airplanes
TITLE=Default Airplanes
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=true

The FSLabs birds are installed outside the sim via xml, so they are visible to the sim by way of a different mechanism than the PMDG/QW birds that are installed/accessed via the outdated legacy folder structure.

1. Previous Client was uninstalled (not deleted)  in control panel/Programs and Features

2. All liveries including defaults are missing (by Publisher, by Make, by Model)

3. I mean all liveries installed PMDG or QW including defaults and downloaded airliners are showing in SimObjects\Airplanes\subfolders e.g. PMDGs or QW with their textures of each variant in each corresponding Aircraft.cfg

I tried deleting SimObjects.cfg. New one [Entry.0] is exactly what you have up their but did not pickup the liveries

Same with deleting FavoriteVehicles.xml. Liveries were not restored
