Aerosoft CRJ 550/700 sale

Recommended Posts

Is it worth it for $35? Is it solid now?

I bought it when it came out and have not regretted it.  It can be a bit of a handful but I'm learning it's quirks.  At $35ish, it's a bargain and then some!!!!

I am still getting my head around the Mk1a and the DH89 so I am unlikely to fly it straight away, but might pick it up while on special for future use and I suppose as a bonus any people flying it in multiplayer streams will actually show up in the correct aircraft.

Only on first load, you should have seen 2-3 warnings about it. After than it’s normal speed.

Yes, first time it took maybe 5 minutes. Second time normal load. Third time took maybe 5 minutes again. Last time it was normal.

Sold. Downloading now. Despite some minor quirks, I enjoyed the P3D AS CRJ so I'm hoping for at least equivalent or better.

I couldn't resist and bought it. I know Aerosoft continually update their products, so I'm not overly worried if a few things still need attention.

Now, my real intention for tonight was to buy the Carenado Seneca, I have no self control.

This look like a good review. Although he's not a CRJ pilot, he is nevertheless a Captain.

A word of warning, very long video but time stamped.

This is actually a very nice aircraft. Glad i grabbed it on sale. Looks like a solid buy at full price as well.

Been wanting this for ages. While I may not fly it *that* much, the sale was too much to pass up for me!

There's a notice at time of installation, that the first time you load it up in the sim, it can take up to 10 minutes to initialize.

Does anyone know if there will be a future 900 model ? There seems to be more real world airlines using the 900 over the 700.

Yes, the 900/1000 models are planned. the project has been delayed but news has it coming out possibly in October.

Interesting.

So would it make more sense to forget the current sale and wait for the 900 ?

It all depends on what size aircraft you want to fly. The 900/1000 are much longer than the 550/700. Personally, I like the smaller planes.

Glenn,

I believe the 900 is an expansion pack that requires the 700 as a base pack. If I am correct (not 100% sure) it is a good opportunity to get the 700 package now .

Just bought it and had my first flight.
As I did what men are doing (not reading any manuals) I needed some time. But I completed a flight from Munich to Genoa.
It imported the flight plan, weight, fuel… it takes a bit to get used to how „vnav“ works but it’s quite some fun.

Problem is: you are much more occupied than in the Airbus. So there is less time to enjoy the scenery 😉
