Is there a way to have auto-rudder sensitivity scale fully?

Recommended Posts

I don't use rudder pedals but until I started flying the 787-10 it's not been much of an issue, that is the issue I'm having with this plane:  when I turn the yoke to ground steer the rate of turn increases until about the midpoint of fully turning the yoke, then after that it wants to decrease the rate of turn such that when the yoke is fully turned either direction the plane was to straighten out.  I don't recall this behavior in FSX/P3D--it would keep increasing, though within a maximum turn.   I played around w/ sensitivities but haven't improved over the default sensitivities.

No need to recommend I invest in rudder pedals I really have no desire for them and haven't for some 30y now...

Personally, I don't see how an aircraft can fly without rudder pedals. Can't even make a crosswind landing.

It's done by the software, syncing rudder and aeleron and has been since FSX and before.  Easy peasy.

Rudder and aelerons are not synced in a real aircraft.

I know Bob.  I also know that for 30y I've had no troubles flying and landing everywhere you would be able to fly and land.  If you can't answer the question just disregard it.

You're not flying a real aircraft in MSFS.  Please get over yourself.  Accept that not everyone has your priorities.

Thanks--I tried w/ the simple comment above in my OP but people disregard this anyway, sadly.

You get over yourself, who the heck are you to lecture me about flying?

Explain to me how exactly do you execute  a crosswind landing with no separate rudder and aileron control?

Who the heck are you to lecture the message board about flying?

As others have already explained to you, many times, there are several ways to execute a crosswind landing without physical rudder pedals.  The easiest involves the multitude of controllers that have a twist axis to simulate rudder control.  Some people use keyboard inputs for the rudder axis.  Noel has indicated he uses the sim ability to sync rudder and aileron.  A number of people adapt to what they have available.  Please stop believing you have the only answer.  You use what you need to make your simulated flying right for you.  Don't pretend, for an instant, you hold the answers for what everyone else wants from simulated flying.

edit... and if you want to get technical... at no point did I 'lecture you about flying', unless pointing out that using a computer sim is not actually flying, and not everyone has the same goals in that endeavor.  If that is considered lecturing in your mind, the best quote that comes to mind is from 'Stripes'... "Lighten up, Francis".

Actually rudder and yoke are auto-synced to a limited extent in some (all?)  real world PA28s 😄

Any deflection of the ailerons requires the use of rudder for coordination. In the PA28 series you cannot use ailerons normally without automatic rudder being applied. There is a linkage between the ailerons and the rudder that tends to keep the ball centred and a semblance of coordination. I feel this is the reason that Piper pilots tend to be rudder lazy when compared with pilots flying other aircraft.

That said it would be very difficult to do a wing low crosswind approach without independent control of rudder and aileron.  You would be limited to crabbing in a strong crosswind.

I think I may have discovered what i needed by using a high extremity dead zone so that after half turned the effect does not start diminishing, at least looks favorable from my last turn into the runway at RKSS.

Cheers
