On the verge of transitioning to MSFS

Nobody knows the details of the contract between Asobo and Microsoft.  I doubt that the French company gets a return out of the 3PD sales at the MS Store.

Well, it's already good enough for ASOBO if the sim is profitable to MS.

Happy with MSFS 🙂

Except if t  they are paid for a certain number of deliverables  with a good cancellation clause if MS shuts MSFS down 😉. We just don't know

Exactly right. They likely have a rational explanation for doing it that way but keeping it simpler as much as possible for the end-user isn't it.

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.
Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).

Zero issues and I too have heard the MS Store and MS installation is a nightmare.

Bologna!  Only for people who can't read the SIMPLE requirements to insure you have Xbox app and MS Store installed, and signed into.

System:  9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL  64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync.

Aircraft used in MSFS 2024:  Fenix A320,  Aerosoft CRJ, FBW, WT 787X, I-Fly 737 MAX 8, Citation Longitude.

Another thing to consider is if you buy from the marketplace then the content is encrypted. The only time I but from the Marketplace is if it's not available off of it. I would rather buy on the Marketplace and further support development but the fact that everything is encrypted and the updates/fixes take a lot longer keep me purchasing off of it.

As far as standard, premium and deluxe I'd say go with Deluxe if you can afford it. You help support the sim (helps offset me not buying on the Marketplace) and get some quality addon planes and airports.

Allow me to falsify this statement once and for all.

This is KSFO a few minutes ago in MSFS:

KSFO_Map_1.thumb.jpg.981d24d7f629268785e3adf0394745dd.jpg

Would you call this empty? Let's look a bit further

KSFO_Map_2.thumb.jpg.eaaceddac341f9c9754677007090d68c.jpg

There are numerous planes on their way, one about to land on RWY 28L besides me. And believe me, they are moving, if you don't I'll shoot a video.

As a further proof here's a shot I took shortly after taking off:

KSFO_Real_World.jpg.aa6716c3951361d5a926ab096cc6ebb2.jpg

So, these are real planes and not something I doctored into the map.

Here are some of my settings:

Life RW-TRaffic: On

Air Traffic Type: Real-Time Online

Use Generic Plane Models: On

Traffic Variety: Ultra.

I use two Mods from Flightsim.to, i.e. "Easy airlines+aircraft matching" (ivao_x-csl_4Qrj.zip) plus FSMM_STATIC_AI_NorthAmerica (for static planes, as suggested by the former).

Keep in mind, I do not state this traffic is absolutely error-free, I saw (rare) cases where a plane simply disappeared, and I can't guarantee all planes occupy their designed gates (they might, I just didn't check). But the claim of "empty airports" is certainly plainly wrong and shouldn't be repeated over and over.

Kind regards, Michael

unfortunately, that was not an idea of asobo.

i have bought a product that announced real air traffic. but, in his place, they have put generic airplanes, that dont take off.

the ivao mod (not from asobo), have invisible planes. (737).

so, there is no real traffic right now.

you are writing this:

a) "i bought a car and it has no wheels".

b) oh..thqats no true, there is a shop that give them for free, although they are not the wheels you bought.

anyway, thanks for the consolation, but im demanding when i pay for something.

Hi @pmb, I installed both programs above in KSFO and read somewhere that static planes with real world livery float in the air.  Apparently this is a bug without a solution. I've been ignoring it until now. I can't find any info if this has been resolved but I think it's still an issue. Do you know if this is still the case? Thank you.

I didn't observe closely. But given neither the statíc plane packages (there are actually three of them, for NA, EU, and Asia) nor MSFS AI engine have been essentially reworked during the last months, I doubt this has changed, if it happend before.

Will try to take a closer look the next time I fly (taxi).

Kind regards, Michael
