Dayliight Savings

FSX, as of today, doesn't appear to be accounting for daylight savings, at least not here in the US, which occurred last week. When should this change, in the sim, take place?

Hey Geoff. I'm running XP Media and the general computer time is correct. What my point was that in the sim sundown, for example, seems to be occurring an hour too early. Also, I was flying in the Eastern time zone today in the Learjet, the local time clock was 1900, GMT was 0000, which is 5 hours difference. That's correct for standard time but under Daylight Savings, there is a 4 hour difference between East Coast time and GMT, since US clocks are moved up 1 hr. I'm pretty sure that prior versions of FS had DST in the sim. Maybe because DST came early this year because of congressional fiat, the programmers didn't take this into account.

FSX understands the new time zone changes in the US. FS2004 does not.You need to resave your default flight on a date after the DST change. It does appear from your description that you have applied the Microsoft OS patch for XP, which is necessary before FS will know to change the UTC offset.

Geofa, is your wife's computer hooked up to the internet? Does she get all the Windows Updates? I have XP Pro and mine updated when it should.

>I'll have to check-I stay away from it-it is hers! There is an Update for XP that fixes the time change thing. She must not have automatic updates turned on.
