I know this build is going to quite expensive but I should be able to get a few hundred quid for the computer I have now to help offset it.

I´d highly recommend a LG CX/C1 OLED 48" or bigger. It has Gsync and the quality is just amazing.

Consider a LG-C1. At 48” or above. Best you can get.
 

I’ve had many monitors/VR etc etc. this one is one of the best.

 

Only thing that beats it is a hardware module g-sync monitor, of which I also have a LG ultra gear.

I'm picking up my new build tomoz or fri.... give me your opinions please.. . Its an i7 11700F, RTX 3060 12Gb card, 32mb ram.. hoping to get a smooth experience in 1080p for now.....maybe get a 4k monitor in the future if you think i could run fs2020 in 4k??....what think guys??

Technically and on your manual you're right but visually there is no difference between 4k 100% render scale and 70%

Well.....LOL, 4k is 4k and at 70% its not as sharp as 4k, if you cannot see it then...well. Please dont make out others cannot see "no difference" thank you. Just speak for yourself. 🙂

I wont goto 4k yet but after seeing the C1 in action..yer..its stunning and there is no way I would invest into one (48") and render scale it to 70%. bobcat999 ran at 70-80% untill he got a 3080Ti and now runs at 100%. I can see why.

It could be your screen it could be your eyes. But if you cannot see "no difference" then thats great for you as you dont need a 3080>🙂 but dont tell us thats there is "no difference" when there is. Thank you.

mm there is...especially on a large format screen like OLED / QLED.

One thing to consider with OLED is how bright your room is. I have both OLED and QLED panels - OLED are better in darker environments and QLED in areas with full sun. BTW the high-end QLED panels (Q9 / Q8) have gsync / freesync as well.

What? Man you don't half like insulting people, do you? You can't debate, just argue.   I believe you have had several 'holidays' from here before.

And to counter your point; of course there is a difference, otherwise the option wouldn't exist, there would be no point in it... You loose clarity, to gain performance.

That should be one powerful system...you'll see the lights dim😉 Also consider the AMD 5900X / 5950X because those are absolute beasts (lots of info on youtube).

Couple of other consideration (I just went through a similar build so just wanted to share):

- Run a Gen4 NVME M.2 as your primary drive. Win11 boots from cold in 4s for me!

- Consider an AIO water cooling setup for the CPUs to keep the processor and ambient temps down

- Get the fastest / lowest latency DDR4 RAM you can get. It's fairly affordable at the moment

- Don't skimp on the power supply

- If you're picking up a new case, find one with good airflow (Gamer's Nexus has some great reviews)

Could I just interject something? I don't think filou's native language is English. Sometimes his phrasing and intended humor doesn't translate perfectly.

Anyway, you guys are arguing about a few pixels here and there and it's all a matter of taste. Scaling is important on a 55" OLED TV, but on a 25-30" monitor it may not matter.

In the bottom picture the aircraft and water look a lot more fuzzy, and the trees a lot more pixelated. At longer viewing distances the differences might be barely visible, but that doesn't mean there is no difference.

Also as bobcat999 said above, render scaling below 100% degrades glass screens massively. At 1080p, even at 95% they become unreadable. At 4K, at 70% they still look blurrier than native 1080p. Hopefully this is something they can fix...

Has anyone seen or run a 3080 vs. 3080TI with MSFS specifically, and seen much of a difference? There is a large delta in price, and from what has been published not that much performance gain...
