Will 3080Ti maintain 30FPS at 4k Ultra setting?

Has anyone seen or run a 3080 vs. 3080TI with MSFS specifically, and seen much of a difference? There is a large delta in price, and from what has been published not that much performance gain...

You will get 2 gigs more vram and gain a few fames over a 3080. If I had to buy again and I could afford the extra 400 dollar  l would just for the 2 gigs vram do it.  It is definitely the card of choice if avalable. 3090 is even better but at a high cost but more Headroom I don't know if it's really worth the extra $1,000

regarding the comments about LG OLEDS, I can confirm FS is absolutely mind blowing on one of those - wish I had one permanently connected to my PC

New PC Ryzen 9850X3D - 32gb ddr5 6000Mhz - MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk wifi - Gigabyte wind force gaming OC 5090 - 2TB Sabrent NVMe. Old PC - Ryzen 5900x - 32gb 3600Mhz RAM - Asus Strix X570-F Motherboard - ASUS TUF OC RTX 3090 - 1TB Sabrent NVMe. AOC AGON 32" 144Hz - Honeycomb Yoke - Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog. T Flight Rudder Pedals - Trackir.

I wish I can see in person how MSFS looks on an LG OLED 55" screen. It supports G-SYNC right? Is G-SYNC and Variable Refresh Rate the same thing?

That should be one powerful system...you'll see the lights dim😉 Also consider the AMD 5900X / 5950X because those are absolute beasts (lots of info on youtube).

Couple of other consideration (I just went through a similar build so just wanted to share):

- Run a Gen4 NVME M.2 as your primary drive. Win11 boots from cold in 4s for me!

- Consider an AIO water cooling setup for the CPUs to keep the processor and ambient temps down

- Get the fastest / lowest latency DDR4 RAM you can get. It's fairly affordable at the moment

- Don't skimp on the power supply

- If you're picking up a new case, find one with good airflow (Gamer's Nexus has some great reviews)

Enjoy!

Thanks Dylan.

Yes, I need a 850W PSU. I'm looking at DDR4 3600 RAM 32GB and a gen4 1TB NVME m.2 drive.(I have two 500GB SSD's in my current system which I can use in addition)

I already use an AIO water cooler, so that's a no brainer.

My existing case is good to go, so I can save a bit there.

Exciting times, hopefully have it built by Christmas.

Then I'll have to find excuses why no-one has had any presents off me 😐

I´d highly recommend a LG CX/C1 OLED 48" or bigger. It has Gsync and the quality is just amazing.

I'll have a look at that. Maybe a little too extravagent, on top of everything else but I've been known to get carried away.

Well Filou, they both look pretty good to me! The bottom one is sharper, though.

It's developing into another 30 fps / 60 fps argument, which is pointless as it can be down to personal perception.  All I can say is 4k 100% looks sharper to me than 70% on my 4k native monitor.  If it didn't  then I would be worried!  Whether the difference matters ENOUGH to some people is a different question.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

The comparisons I saw before purchasing my GTX 3080 showed a small improvement in fps. I was lucky to buy my EVGA 3080 Ultra for MSRP of $890 the 3080 Ti Ultra is $1420 which is 60% more money. In the end I am happy the way MSFS runs at 3440x1440 on ultra.

I don't really see where the insult is.You may be too sensitive

As sensitive as the mods that keep giving you holidays, possibly.

Yes, same thing. And yes they have very good g-Sync, not quite as good as a hardware based monitor, but nonetheless very very good

The Mods can ban me for life I would continue between two throats of excellent wine to answer you orally.Try to find other argument, I have no sensitivity on this side.

Indeed both are excellent but i won't keep the suspense too long!

The first is 100% & the second 70%.

I’m not trying to find any arguments. It appears that’s your aim.

When looking on a mobile/cell screen, you can’t tell. However as soon as I put them on LgC1 screen, I could see the differences straight away.
Which kinda proves the point, does it not?
