Will 3080Ti maintain 30FPS at 4k Ultra setting?

When looking on a mobile/cell screen, you can’t tell. However as soon as I put them on LgC1 screen, I could see the differences straight away.
Which kinda proves the point, does it not?

We could even give it a try in a movie theater, right?

Save your money.  3060ti will do that all day.

Cheers

"I’m not trying to find any arguments"

It shows an incredible lack of confidence.Practice is perhaps the key.

I have an RTX 3080 Ti with an AMD 5600X ....and Gsync compatible 4k monitor (only 60 ms though).. at 100 percent rendering around new york with the settings on ultra..i average 41-43fps at JFK default..or Newark (Add-on).

My setting are limited to 60 FPS in The Nvidia control panel..so the results are pretty smooth 90 percent of the time.

Once airborne , i get 56-59 FPS and my GPU temps hover around 72-73c with water cooling. The system is not overclocked.

To me, this is still a vast improvement over my previous system which included a RTX 2080 8 Gig system.

I would live a better 4k monitor than my present 4k Samsung and also an upgrade of my AMD CPU but given the pricing i cannot justify the purchases at the moment.

When you did the comparison RTX 2080 / RTX 3080ti , the ASOBO optimization was already out?

A good question and the answer is yes. SU5 came out before i purchased the RTX 3080 TI. So the comparisons are post SU5. Hope that assists.

As a side note.currently enroute to Chicago from Newark in the freeware A330-900 Delta variant (Very good by the way. Super impressed it is freeware).

I was getting between 51-59 FPS average at 37000 feet. I passed over a weather front with Cumulus build up and noted my FPS dropped by at least 15 fps ..down to 41-43 with heavier clouds and lightening around.

Clouds make a big impact - especially on ULTRA

I'm still impressed with the optimization even with my my old GTX1080 and my i7 4790k

Exactly but if you want to keep the clouds in ultra, just lower some other parameters.

Hi all,

Just a quick shout out to all those with 3080Ti specifically.

I currently run an i7 7700k at 4.6 GHz with 32GB of Ram and a rather lowly GTX1080 at present, with a 1080 monitor.

I have my settings mostly on high with the ground details being on ultra, I also lock my FPS at 30. I am pretty pleased with the performance and have a good experience.

As my system is coming up to five years old, I'm looking to build a new rig based around an i7 11700K and 3080Ti with a 43" 4K monitor/TV.

Would this run at ultra settings at 4K and at 30 FPS?

Cheers

Stu

My 3060ti maintains 30fps at 4K no issues.  Combo high and ultra settings.

Well, I fitted that unit three days ago, Bunchy: ASUS OC (not touched) RTX 3080Ti. The proc is my old 4790K, running at 4.8 gig, on a Maximus Hero VII, 32 gig GSkill, into a 43" LG 4k (3840 x 2160) - set at 30fps in the Nvidia control panel and 30 in msfs. I just flew (twice) in the Twin Baron - a five-leg flight plan - IFR all the way, at 1600 feet from CYVR - CYYJ - Friday Harbor - Whidby - Paine - SeaTac.    T/O @17:00hrs, live weather 9/10 heavy cumulous, rain, ground occasionally visible, landing at SeaTac 16L rvr - maybe 400ft.  No stuttering, no hesitations, most settings on high or ultra. Yes bloom was on, R. Scaling at 100: vsync on: TAA: LOD 170Obj LOD 200 .VClouds Ultra:T. Res. Ultra: AF 16TSup. 6x6. The rest all Higgh, motion blur offLflar on, GC refresh Med.

Frames set at 60/60 for the first flight, she would vary around the 45 mark, , so I abandoned that and switched to 32/32. The frames stayed locked at 32 - solid all the way, varying below that only during the msfs startup.
I came back to simming on msfs's release, with a 780, and went (against everything I've learned (from Nick Needham (and others) - (and preached myself) - and bought a 2020 MSI Ventus, thinking it would be a big jump up from the 780. Duh! Well - it wasn't. The Nvidia 60 and 70 series boards are marginal at best with any of the sims, and have been that way since Nvidia began making the GTX.  I am very, very happy that I purchased this card, and would highly recommend it as a partner to the 10 - or 11700 cpu's.

Thank you Paul.

I'm sold. My only issue is the 4k monitor size. I'll struggle to fit even a 43" in the space I have, then there's the consideration of how close I'll be sitting to it.

It's looking like a 32"  is most likely going to be the answer.

Why don’t you try an ultra gear 38” widescreen? It’s 3840x1600, so not quite 4K, but it can maintain 60fps easily. And the gsync module in it is absolutely superb. Zeros stutters from 20fps through to 60. You wouldn’t even notice if the frames dropped from 60 to 40 and then went back to 60.

As a bit of a reference, Stu - (and you may already know this), the 43" LG is actually 38" wide . It sits at 29" from my eyes, with a TIR4 sitting at top center. I also concur with Ian on the UltraGear - it's my choice too: if you can find a way to wedge it in - go for it - you'll not regret it!
