Honorable mentions go to a lot of others though, including the Aerosoft CRJ, Milviz FG-1D Corsair, Big Radials Curtiss P-40B, Black Box Simulations Britten Norman Islander, Blue Mesh Designs Caudron C.430 Rafale, Orbx Edgley EA-7 Optica, Aeroplane Heaven Cessna 140, Touching Cloud JW1 Sky Pirat, FlySimWare Grumman G44 Widgeon, Asobo Junker Ju-52/3m, Flying Iron Supermarine Spitfire Mark IX, Flying Iron P-38 Lightning, Asobo Aviat A 1C Husky. By this I mean they offer a lot and would most likely not disappoint you, with some of these having very innovative features.

Would agree largely but I think the Junkers doesn't deserve an honourable mention until/unless they patch in the missing superchargers ☹️

Now this is more of what I was expecting...  It really is amazing that the sim has been out as long as it has been with no more hyper-real options than listed...  I thought all the developers were working before the initial release by about a year...  Surprised it's taking so long...

It may not be intentional but this fits the pattern of a typical anti-MSFS trolling post.  Forum member who is not using the sim has specific highly detailed request for their demanding expectations.  Receives answers.  Expresses amazement that the niche products they request are not yet available to the degree they expected.   That's probably why it took a while for your post to get responses - it's to the point where you can smell it coming.

Like i said it may not be intentional, so no offense meant here, but it is predictable nevertheless,  On the positive side, it sounds like you still have quite a bit of time ahead of you until you start using the sim anyway so you'll most likely have enough addons available to keep you somewhat busy once you are able to get back into simming.  Good luck.

I think you hit the nail on the head.

What is amazing to me is the sim had been out for over a year, and you apparently don't even own in yet. ????

After a year, right now for me, I only fly the CJ4 and, sometimes, the DA62.  MSFS tied a hand behind its back by developing its own nav systems (no XPRealistic) so, yeah, developing all new navigation systems takes considerable time.  I do think it was a good decision and I have to remind myself to be patient.  Really patient.  In the long run, it'll pay off.  The Nxi continues to improve, the G3000 is probably next.  The closest thing we've had that comes close in those regards is the XPlane G1000 and the G1000 in the Flight1 Mustang (which I'd love to see ported).  There are also ports of the GTN750/650 but they lack some things right now.  They should also improve as time and the API gets better.  Here's hoping the GNS530/430 also improve.

For me, I love long range GA cruisers and these nav systems are really essential to airplanes like that.  So, a lot of the depth for these airplanes would come from Asobo and third parties who are working on these nav systems.  Once they're done, we'll likely see some airplanes come along quickly.  Perhaps, Flight1 will join in.  Carenado will offer their airplanes, though, the depth there is always weak even when high quality nav systems are given to them.  They always hurry the airplanes...the Seneca would have been so, so much better if they'd finished the HSI and added an altitude preselector.  Too bad we won't see the RealAir planes.

In XPlane, they've been doing a much, much better job at GA depth   The TBM850, the SR22, the soon-to-come Falcon and Hawker.  All the Aerobask planes that have some depth.  Would that we'd see some of those excellent planes ported over but, I don't have a lot of hope for that.

So, for me, right now, I see all the talk about all those airplanes in MSFS and I just sigh.  The HondaJet is probably the only one.  The rest aren't even close for what I'm looking for...high quality cruisers...twins, turboprops, light jets that you would take on long trips.  Cheyenne, Malibu, Meridian, M350, M500. King Air, Denali and a really, really in-depth C208 and on and on.

If we learned anything from A2A and Hotstart (X-Plane TBM) it's this:  Even if someone's already released a half-done version of an airplane, a really in-depth airplane will sell like crazy.  There's real hunger out there for airplanes of high-quality.  Patience, I say to myself.  Patience.  It may be years.

It would also be nice to see GA planes where you could switch out avionics...like the real planes.

So how do you like the PMDG DC6?

I've never owned it.  I'm not much of a commercial flyer with the sole exception of the 777..

Yeah, it's not one of those push a button and it flies itself so some don't like it for that reason.

Feel free to develop one hyper realistic aircraft if you think the market is big enough.

The case for so called study level planes is probably overblown with far fewer simmers who can appreciate and afford them.

The default and my purchased planes suit me fine.

It's not perfect, but it's a very accurately-built and attractive model of the aeroplane, and I think that does deserve some credit.

The working title CJ4 is absolutely almost fully realistic and "study level". The JustFlight Hawk is definitely Study Level. The JustFlight Pipers are also Study level... The Bush league legends mods for the X Cub makes it much more realistic. Those are the only airplanes I fly in the sim. Hopefully we will get some more complex simulations of some GA aircraft in the future.

It's probably not for that reason.  Gregg is more of a GA guy like myself if I remember correctly.

You got that right. I saw a post the other day of someone trying to fly a complex aircraft. and thought there was something wrong with it cause the manifold pressure at the airport cold and dark was reading 30....
