Change from Stock Airport

Recommended Posts

Guys, for some reason I see no airplanes landing, and Im wondering if cuz I have a custom airport for KMIA by LVFR? Would this cause airplanes to disappear when going to take off or landing? No airplane showing landing, and when taking off, they stop at hold short, and disappear. Any help would be great.

No, the airport scenery has no influence.

It all depends on the availability of real time traffic data. Try another airport.

Traffic data in RT is showing lots of activity, im at KMIA right now, full of landing and taking off airplanes. I see them taxi, to take off, but the moment they turn into the runway, poof, disappear.

Do they disappear from the RT window too?

It is caused by poor quality ground traffic data. Outages in the traffic data of more than 30 seconds will lead to temporary disapperances from MSFS, while in RT window they are still visible.

At other airports it might be much better. Try a major European airport for instance, say EGLL, EDDF, EHAM or LEMD. I have good experiences with KDEN too

Tried all these airports you mentioned, plenty of taxing aircrafts, but no landings, and take off also disappear when turn into runway for takeoff.

Kiek, I was able to figure out the displaying of aircraft, in RT, the Select Airport must be set to user coordinates, the moment i put it back to this the airplanes both in the air and landing and taking started to appear. Right now the only issue I have, i when airplanes are taking off, they stay stuck on the floor all the way out, never go up in the air. I chased a few for a few miles after leaving the runway and they all stayed stuck on the ground.

No, no, no, you should not do that!

RT receives the users aircraft coordinates from PSXT_MSFS every second. That's why you see traffic in the RT radar around your location.

Aircraft not taking off is not an PSXT_MSFS issue but an MSFS Simconnect and/or an ai aircraft (conversion) issue. Some (ivao?) aircraft do take off, others don't . I cannot do anything about it.

The way ai aircraft are controlled by PSXT_MSFS is exactly the same as in PSXseeconTraffic for P3D/FSX (shared code).  The interface with the Simulator is also the same (SimConnect). The commands to rotate at Vr are given by PSXT-MSFS (I can see that in debug mode) but the aircraft does not respond.

If you like to see how it might look in MSFS one day, I recommend to install Prepar3D or FSX with PSXseeconTraffic.😉

Thanks for the explanation about aircraft that don't take-off. I was really curious about the problem of aircraft never leaving the runway on take-off roll. Such a shame because the ones that do take-off look really good! I see about 80% stuck to the runway and never get airborne even though RT reports increasing altitude. I'm dying to know what difference makes some take-off but most not. Is it possible something in the model def causes this? As an example I have never seen any B73X get off the ground.

Maybe. It is also strange to see aircraft flare normally when landing but as soon as they touch the ground the nose goes down immediately. In PSXseeconTraffic for P3D/FSX  the nose goes down gradually and it takes about  4-5 seconds  before the nose-wheel touches the ground. Exact the same code... ?
