Nürburgring Nordschleife (For Paul and Rob)

The Nürburgring Nordschleife is the longest permanent racetrack in the world: 21km of unforgiving blind corners and hills, nicknamed "the Green Hell". Oh, and some days, it's also just a public toll road with no speed limit.

This looks like it would be fun to drive. Once.

I got a chance to drive the 'Ring a couple of years ago. It really is a lifetime experience. There wasn't much going on the day we were there but sometimes it gets a bit hectic. It's usually fairly safe - but sometimes not.

I'd love to drive "the Ring"   I have a few friends that actually endurance race there.  With a "track" that large weather can always play a part.   5k up the road can be pouring while it's dry on the other side of the track.  Makes for some fascinating footage! Even on the sim it is quite the experience!

This was actually just posted a few days ago.  I have the GT4 on order, the RS was a bit excessive even for me LOL

.  21km in a hair over 7 minutes.  I heard Jorg could have gone faster but Porsche does not want the baby brother (Cayman) to be quicker than the flagship (911)  My "guess" is heart rate is probably 160-180bpm throughout his run.

Thank you for sharing Bill!!

Assetto Corsa has an excellent rendition of the Nordschleife. I am not a big fan of racing at that track, but a lap of the Tourist layout in a wide range of cars is enjoyable.

Paul - Will you please stop posting stuff like that! I don't think my heart will take much more 🙂 . I really envy you guys. Since I was just a kid I always wanted to drive a race car. But the closest I ever came was being the fueler on my son's NSX ream for a couple of years. Seriously though, keep the videos coming so old guys like me can keep dreaming of what  could have been. Sigh..........Doug
