November 4, 20214 yr The latest video is good. The blog post is a bit of a marketing pitch as just about any games in the latest 5-10 years ago are using HDR rendering internally and tonemap back to 8bit. This is not something new but I am glad XPlane 12 is finally doing that. It does improve dramatically the visuals. https://fsprocedures.com Your home for all flight simulator related checklist.

Anyone ever fly the A2A Bonanza? Best windscreen/rain effects I've seen yet. The way the prop would "clear" off the water when you advance the throttle. Then again the rain effects from Xp11 via hotstart were very good as well. Anyway I am definitely more interested in XP12 when compared to their first announcement video. If we take a photo with a similar lighting, I think the XP pic is not far from a real one. Also, the pattern of rain streaks is uncanny similar between your RL second photo and the XP one. Self-explanatory indeed! I was mostly trying to match the rain on the windshield + the foreground farms. Here another angle with the blown-out sun. The lighting looks pretty similar xp12.
