just gave this a try and struggling to get it working (I have read the instructions but still confused!) - although have set it up as directed I think......

1)Tried the asobo F18 - by default it seems to be giving me central white smoke when I hit the (L) lights key it toggles on (although appear to have no f18 profile in my community folder) - however I tried to make some custom profiles in the .exe with different colors - the created file appears in my community folder(I now have 3 or 4 that are created off the f18 template) however when I load the f18 I still get the default white smoke? (how do I load this custom profile in and if I have 3 or 4 for the f18 which one is selected?)

2)I see there are already some "custom" profiles that come with the package(including one for the pitts) and have copied these into my community folder - but how do I load them into the sim or will they play automatically everytime I load the pitts?

I have the same question.  The pre-configued planes are in the community folder and appear to be installed (Nothing shows not installed), but I can't find them.  Same with ones I configured.

The should show up in Liveries.

Roy you Will have no new special entries , no new planes, you Will noticed anything new in the Sim!

With the provided samples only the model.xml Is ovverided)

Just try to fly the default airplanes (extra 330, pitts, Savage,f18) and switch the lights on (or Hide the control Stick in the pitts) the effects Will spawn

got it I think - can see you have created custom profiles for the 330 and the pitts so they should work "automatically" when you fly them?

Note not sure why you include the F18 with them as I can see no custom profile for the F18? (strangely despite the lack of any custom profile for the F18 I am getting basic white smoke everytime I fly it!)

The other weird thing is that I am creating my own custom profiles for the F18 (there appearing in the community folder but strangely every time I fly it I get the "default" white smoke!)

Mac.  My problem is there is nothing to push to turn the smoke on. No light switches, Throttle turns blue but nothing happens when you click it,  I particularly wanted the Pitts so I could do my airshow.  I'll try another plane with some switches.

Very Strange.  I was going to configure another plane so I went to the folder Smoke-a-Plane which I put in my Documents folder as directed. I clicked on it and five items are listed but no .exe file.

I re-extracted and tried again.  It was there this time so clicked on it and it disappeared.  The first time I loaded this a couple of weeks ago, it was there because I used it,  Strange.

Never mind the previous post.  It's the @#%* Norton.  Norton deleted it without even asking me.  I wish I had never installed it.  All I get is advertisements every day trying to sell me something.

330 and pitts works automatically (330 with light, pitts with yoke/stick visibilty)

f18 works with landing light, it is not default, but are my effects (i did it white cause the blue angels have it white, so one have something usable!)

to have other "profiles" just deleted the one that come with the package (as well as the others if you want, they are only samples!)

seems the custom profiles are either mapped to lights (default L key) or removing the yoke....
