FSX Priority in Task Manager...

Recommended Posts

Guest BrianFletcher

Will adjusting the priority of FSX in the Windows Task Manager have any benefits or ill effects? What setting is recommended? I would much rather ask here than to mess something up trying it out.

You can safely put it to Above Normal but there will be no noticeable difference. If you go to High strange things will probably start to happen and if you put it to Realtime you'll also stop many critical processes. My recommendation? Don't bother fooling with it. But, if you want to try upping the priority, no real damage can be done as a reboot will put everything back to normal again even if the system freezes.Doug

Your right. I tried setting it to "above normal" and noticed no difference whatsoever. I moved it up to "high", which brought on some abnormalities in the graphics. At least now I know.
