TrackIR (MSFS Update 7)

The way to set up Track IR, is to adjust it so you can see top, bottom , left,  right with a stable image on your primary screen. Is your second monitor so far away from your main monitor, that you have to turn your head excessively to see it?

It is not a question of distance, but direction. In my case looking at a chart on my second screen requires turning my head about 90 degrees. My primary screen is 32" and I have no problem seeing any part of it with TrackIR.

Ah, yeah you are stuck with  that then . The way they have messed up Track IR, is if you turn your head too far, and it loses focus, then it shuts Track IR down.   I have my 2nd monitor right next to my first, and at an angle, so I can see them both, just moving my head an inch or two.

@ark When you look away and it loses contact and turns off then  this mod renables it each time correct?  Does it keep your center when you look back or does it center to where it turned it back on and you have to recenter the view?

In the little experimentation I have tried I have not felt the need to recenter TrackIR after "looking back". The app is stand alone in that you can save it to your Desktop and click on it to run after starting TrackIR. The point being, it is easy to try out and see if it helps in your particular situation.

Not buying Reno until they fix it. Voting with my wallet on this one.

Don't waste your money on this arcade money grab. It really does not live up to the hype.

I use my small second monitor for approach plates, etc, and with my eyes I need it a lot closer to me than my primary monitor.

Did you expect it to be realistic? Can you imagine if it was? It would take months just to learn how to fly one of those type of planes, never mind 5+ of them. It’s a bit of fun…..

In case anyone is interested....https://flightsim.to/file/23886/autotrackir

until the hotfix comes.

Thanks for this!  It is working as intended, and is a huge improvement over the current broken TrackIR in SU7!  Whenever it kicks in, which is quite often for me, the view is re-centered, so it doesn't allow you to pause TrackIR to focus on an instrument outside of "center."  But it is still a huge improvement until Asobo fixes TrackIR.  It at least has me flying MSFS 2020 again!  😀👍

Along with TrackIR I use this method to create different cockpit views and assign them to the Numpad keys 0-9 and then make a profile for the different planes in Stream Deck.

alt spacebar turns it back on when it loses contact.

I have a multi-screen setup and often tilt my head out of the trackIR range and it disables trackIR.

Alt Spacebar flicks it back on. It's a pain in the neck.

It never stopped working? You only have to re-enable it whenever it gets disabled by accident. You can assign a key to that option so you can get the job done in a split second. The only thing that won't work is freezing your current view. To me that's not a problem and I never stopped enjoying TrackIR in MSFS since SU7.

Pausing or freezing the view is one of the best features of Track IR, and most people use it constantly. If it doesn't work, that is word not allowed.

Looking at a second screen is not an accident. Pausing is not an accident. Assigning a key to restart it everytime it quits is not a fix. The fact that you never stopped using it and are happy with using a workaround for your type of use doesn't mean it's not broken.

Agreed, but the question was not if TIR was still broken but "Is TrackIR working im MSFS 2020 again yet?" and although not perfect you can't say it stopped, working completely. 😉
