Strange ATC words during Tower's clearance for takeoff

Featured Replies

After the update, my system seems to be running just fine with one exception.  Using the C172, and after getting taxiing instructions from "Ground" and stopping short of the active RW, I asked for takeoff clearance from "Tower,"   The verbal reply is very weird.  Tower starts to give me clearance using the normal expected verbiage, but about 1/2 way through the response it it adds some strange words and numbers (including the word microsoft) that don't seem to make any sense, but after that it does clear me for takeoff.   When I hit (1) to acknowledge the clearance, the response says the correct clearance without repeating those weird words and numbers.

Has anyone had the same ATC issue?  If so, have you found out a way to stop this strange "Tower" verbiage?

Mike

Make sure you have Azure voices on under sound options. The offline voices are broken at the moment, saying weird stuff like that.

The Azure servers have been hiccuping a bit since the update launched, so sometimes it will turn off for a few minutes, but it should reconnect eventually.

Yep,I get it too, think it's Microsoft text to speech getting in a twist  🙄

...

ATC has changed after SU7.

I no longer get taxi clearance, instead I am prompted to Announce Taxi.

No longer get told to line up and wait.

No longer get clearance to take off- prompted to Announce Take-off departing east, West etc.

They seem to be working on something...

Do you have Navigraph? Update it. A buggy version broke all that.

I get all of those. Maybe you have an incompatible mod.

Just FBWA320 and Navigraph. I'll try removing these and see what happens.

Just update Navigraph. One of the versions bugged and wasn't loading the data correctly.

Will check that ... thanks

Ive had the same thing happen once since SU7, The controller starts talking as if they're reading the code in the matrix. I don't use Navigraph so something's bugging out.

Perhaps Microsoft is now incorporating subliminal ads into ATC.

That was the issue.  I changed it to Azure and it is now working fine

The tower informed me "Ommm mani padme Hummm" before continuing on speaking as I expected.
